Anyone planning a Newfoundland based SToc for next Summer (2025?)

If so and it's July / August, Mrs. Obo and I are interested!!

It's been years since I was to the Rock and Mrs. Obo has never been, but her grandmother was born there.

Another moment of brilliance from our friend Obo! Excellent idea Obo; plan it, they will come...
Maybe piggyback that and WoodSToc3, having it right before the now famous Maritime event. That way, the two events together would hopefully be a strong draw for folks coming from away!

Already had that idea. Would allow us to travel back with @Happy Rob if he and the Mrs. were coming to WoodSToc next year (assuming that happens too)

Either way I think we are doing Nfld next year. Mrs. Happy Rob put the sell on Mrs. Obo.

Looks like the Mrs. & I are officially Rock bound on 2 wheels with 2 wheels in tow next Summer, since she's now telling folks we're going on a MC trip to Nfld.

Current planned arrival is landing in PAB suppertime Aug 2nd (doing the day crossing) and departing Argentia on the 11th.

The exit date is firm in order to meet getting back for WoodSToc3, but the arrival date could move ahead if we decide we want more time to Rock-it-out there. :)

I'm not flagging this as a SToc event as we won't have any firm itineraries but more of a leisurely exploration style 1st visit for her with short distances travelled most days. I've been to the Rock before, but only in St.John's for work. My only forage around was within city limits, so it'll be pretty much new to me as well.

Dang, I'm hoping to retire late next year or very early 26 and was planning a Labrador NF ride. Buttttt I really like NF, be nice to see Rob again. I've seen Jim's got a GW now...he was hosting........maybe idk

We're taking the Wing and not STella to Nfld next year.
Already had a plan in place based on watching a bunch of videos and the GW forum chat, but let's open this up to see what others do/say, in case I'm way off base or can improve anything.

How did YOU tie your bike &/or trailer down on the ferry to & from Nfld. Any lessons learned worth sharing?

Take the engine guard covers off and use the guards as your tie down points. I also had the front brake fully engaged.
Absolutely no issues!

In gear, i just run a strap up around lower triple tree and fork on each side. Then one off the back pannier guard. Tie down the front brake lever....

What happened to your pannier? It seems to have road-rash, or is it just a reflection.
There was this large pothole that jumped up and bit him, and gave the bike a bit of road rash.
In the photo you will see new pavement. The council had been trying for years to get that dealt with…they have Andy to thank for finally getting that section repaired!
We were just coming into town, a slight hill going up then the road went downhill…a bit of a blind spot. Jim hit the potholes first and the Mini-Mate took some air, I was next in line and braked hard then released and swerved to the right to avoid the potholes, Andy was behind me, he braked hard went to the left of me and caught the edge of the pothole which made the bike lose grip and fall on the right side. We weren’t going fast and we’re spaced out reasonably well. It was not a great day for Andy.
