Rear fender panels

That looked to me like a modified Middle Cowl, too. Wonder what that might do for cooling the bike for those of us who think it runs hot?

I don't think they've had them available for the five years or better!

I noticed this vendor has updated their website. He carries some interesting products espcially for the ST family. And there is a recent reference to the rear panels, that some who enjoy going case-less, might be interested in,,, Cat'

There is a note at the bottom of the pictures:

  • Home
  • ST1300 PAN EUROPEAN REAR PANELS
PLEASE NOTE:

Regretfully, due to circumstances beyond our control, ST1300 Rear Panels are currently unavailable.

I think this is the most current notation on the panels. If you add your name to the list (if you are interested in them),,, he will let you know directly, when they are available,,, and he has details. He does seem to be actively pursuing them,,, and a head count might be helpful,,,, Cat'

Update - 02 May 2018, I have found local manufacturers for both the Fibre Glass panels and the mounting brackets. The next step is to make a couple of test samples and then see how the mating of the two components works out. Then we need to do a first production run and see how the QC goes... This will take considerable time but I will keep this section updated so ...
Watch this space!

I don't know... I just personally think the ST looks best w/saddlebags... just the way it was designed..

I think everyone would agree with that,, Mellow. But, for the benefit of those who choose (for what ever reason) to ride at times without bags,,,, do you think the ST looks cleaner with these new covers in place,,, or without ??

Also,,, I would suggest,,, that these new covers will look better than the previous cover offering pictured here.,,,, Cheers, Cat'

I don't care for either but I just prefer the looks of the ST w/bags.. just a personal opinion.. heck I don't even have an ST anymore so my opinion isn't worth much.

Maybe this link? They look nice. Though these are cover panels that some riders have asked about they can be used as ersatz panniers so you're not completely defenseless when you leave the bags at home. Some items could be strapped to the inside.

They might seem pricey at £175 (~$227US/$900CDN) but they'll never be a volume product. I like the look much better than the earliest version and may offer a bit more utility.

Thanks for straightening out the link, Gui. The price in cdn$$ is about $300,, plus shipping,,, estimated. Which does not seem unreasonable, judging by the appearance and description. I believe the finish i to be a basic black,, with each owner able to finish with Colorite, if desired. Cat'

That's what I get for using the MaxPete conversion factor. Probably most STers keep the bags on at all times. If you ride locally a lot and the bags are generally empty except for some small bits those panels would probably be cheaper than replacing one bag in a tip over or worse. And I'd sure feel better about lane splitting when not carrying the bags.
