We've got 29 to 39, the sun is bright, the sky is blue, all the better to post this to you.
Pffffffftttttt.
I think a tree may fall today, timberrrrrrrrrrrr! Best take the baubles off it first.
Other than that, slow and steady will be the order of the day. Taking us nicely to a Fresh Trout dinner.

Good morning, everyone. Thanks for the Saturday morning starting elixir, Ray.

Rather brisk out, according to the wonder dog, Teddy. He says it’s 25, but feels like 21. He’s lying…he didn’t get more than his snout out the door, before coming back to bed. He’ll wait til after breakfast before actually going out. Smart dog. I taught him that one. High should reach a sunny 41

Nothing on local TV except for pictures of snow plows and salt trucks. Pffftt. There’s snow coming this weekend, but it going to be 50 degrees, so there’s no chance of accumulation. Well, I suppose there’s a chance. None, and less than none.

A wise man once said “Have a gud un.”

John

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the Italian roast Ray.

Edit....did anyone see Venus and the Crescent Moon last night. Stunning.

Not yesterday, but Thursday. I can't recall having ever seen Venus so brilliant. Stunning indeed.

It's a wintery, blustery 26°F in Rockville but feels like 14 due to the wind, WNW @ 15 moh, gusting into the upper 20s. Glad to be in front of the gas fireplace under a cozy blanket. We won't reach freezing today, topping out at 31.

We got a light snow yesterday but it didn't stick to pavement, only to greenery. Winter storm warning from tomorrow evening through the wee hours of Tuesday morning so I guess I'd better stage the snow blower and cleanup shovels to be ready for action.

Once I'm a bit warmer, uke practice will be the main event for the day.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them.

Good morning and Thanks for the Dark Roast. No weather to report from here in Florida, the natives say its cold I think it's perfect low of 38 high of 61.

After a quick cup I'm off to try out my new gym membership and pick up some spark plugs. Fortunately they are right next door to each other.

Have a wonderful Saturday everyone. Remember be safe out there

good morning all. thank you Ray for the coffee. 51F on the dog walk with clouds to cover the moon and stars. you could just see the moon light that was shinning behind the cloud cover.
what's all this talk about snow? my son lives in Virginia and he told me about the coming snow. he asked if I missed it. Not one bit was my answer. send me a pic or two to refresh my memory. you know like you digging your truck out to go to work. well the high should hit 73F . so no snow today. enjoy the day

and stay safe

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee start, Ray.

It's 22 and sunny in MA this morning, rising to 29 with 20 to 30mph wind predicted.

Yesterday, I made it to the barber, gym, and a dog walk.
We haven't begun to move anything into the kitchen/bath, but we've begun to use them. MUCH better than the porta-john...

I'll probably head out to the gym in a bit, and then on to some shopping for kitchen and bath stuff.

Enjoy the day,
Steve

I'm on my first cup already, so it should be safe for me to post. Thanks for the help, Ray. We'll also start dismantling Christmas gosh, I think.

Below freezing, looking for the 50s temp-wise, so I don't plan on doing much outside either. Wait... the porch is outside, and that's where I was instructed (volun-told) to hang lights. Uh-oh. How warm will it get tomorrow?

I need to find my jury summons i received weeks ago, because it wasn't clear which of two courthouses I'm to show up. I'm awfully tired of being summoned every 2 years or so, because I've never sat or been selected for an actual case. Is it because i always talk to the attorneys about the Lincoln Lawyer tv show, or the Trump hat I wear? I can't decide, but I'm totally messing with y'all. It's probably the 2A t-shirt I wear...

Gosh it's cold out here. And jury duty is Monday... I should find that summons. Thankfully, it's somewhere inside.

Thx Ray!
Got a glimpse of the moon and Venus yesterday, amazing.
Read that Venus is even hotter than where @Whisker Bill resides for the moment, at 480˚c/896f.
Imagine showelling snow in that heat.

Son and gf left this morning.
They’ve been here for 14days/7days.
Snoop miss them, so do I.

Mrs Stu just left for a visit to her dad at the nursing home.
I couldn’t join her because I was busy with something.
Now I have forgot what I was doing.
Best sit still for a while.

0˚c/32f, sn**showers, quite calm.

Have a good one, and don’t forget your sunscreen!
Stu

From todays walk….sn** on the beach

Gooood morning, campers, and thanks for the Roast-o Italiano, Ray! I'll sample some "snappin" too, if that's all right.

Home again, home again, jiggity jig. The trip back was as painless as can be. The flight took off on time and landed on time and the journey was smooth, except for a couple of patches of turbulence (which doesn't bother me), and getting through Canadian Customs took all of 5 minutes, despite a very full flight. Waiting for luggage was what took the longest time, and even that didn't take long. We landed at 3 and I was home by 4. Easy peasy.
The trip was nice, but it was more a "necessity" than a "vacation" and was, frankly, somewhat more mentally and emotionally exhausting than enjoyable. I hadn't seen my eldest sister since my niece's wedding 4 years ago and to say that she is not well would be an understatement. My BIL drives me nuts at times, but he has a heart as big as a house and is devoted to taking care of my sis, bless him. In fact, he has no life other than being her full-time caretaker, which is a very demanding task indeed. My sister can use a walker for very short distances but is otherwise confined to a wheelchair, so going anywhere can be a complicated affair and many factors (like access, or just getting her in and out of the car) have to be taken into account. She tires very easily, of course, so long events that involve a lot of moving around are difficult, if not impossible. I'm also not used to being with (and at the mercy of the whims of) one or more people 24/7, with no possibility of going exploring on my own at any point, and despite being in Florida, I froze my butt off for the entire week+, as they keep their AC cranked up to igloo level, even when it isn't hot out. All that said, it was good to see them and the place itself certainly is beautiful.

I have today and tomorrow to "recupe" and re-centre, and then it's back to the grind on Monday. Today should be fun - I have a group of friends visiting from the U.S. and this afternoon we're all going to see the latest Cirque du Soleil show ("OVO"...as opposed to "OBO"), then going for dinner somewhere.

On that note, I will leave you with a few visual treats to enjoy and wish you all a great day. Stay safe and go safely.

Morning all! Currently dark, 6C with a predicted high of 7C and alternating rain/overcast skies. Is it weird that I miss snow? It is right?

Our other daughter and boyfriend may drop by late this afternoon after they get off the ferry. They've been driving back from Calgary in his new to him vehicle. Apparently, we're not allowed to know what it is. I'm hoping that's because they want to surprise us, not horrify us prior to their departure based upon whatever he decided to buy :D . I'm just happy that they'll have another functioning vehicle so that my vehicle will not go missing quite so often.

The rest of the day will be spent doing this and that to get ready for their arrival though I expect they'll just be doing a quick hi and bye as they'll be anxious to get home after being away and they'll want to see their cats. I guess I kind of get that, they're almost as good as dogs......

Patty, those are great looking pics, sorry it wasn't a better time but glad you got to see your sister.

I've been slowly assembling the various bits and bobs for a bit of a home gym; a bench, some adjustable weights and a spin bike. It's a workout in and of itself. I can't wait to get it done though and have some extra hanging space for clothes, jackets etc.

Hope everyone has a great day and if not, I guess that's just the way it works out eh?

G'Day to all the coffeistas...

The past couple of days we had like -4C during the night, and +4C during the day...
Thick fog freezing leaving rouf on the twigs of trees and bushes, as well as on all surfaces...
Quite "wintry" one might say, but no, besides the usual "weather warnings" of all kinds, the media informs that such isn't rouf, its "industry snow"...
They claim this occurs due fog droplets condensing and freezing on the sooth particles in the air...
Kinda astonishing, as during the past 3 decades the European industry was forced to install filters onto all and everything, which had gotten so successful, that the reduction of atmospheric dimming finally lead to measurable raising ground temperatures (like during the no-flight days after 9/11...)... climate panic... pfffff...

BTW is "sleeping in" a bit of a stimulant though... ;)
Because the female sleep-pattern is another unsolved mystery on this planet...
If you wake her in the butt-crack of dawn you'll get the Christopher Walken stare and a 'why did you wake me, fool!!!'
Leaving her in the comatose state in till 10 AM, you again get the Christopher Walken stare and a 'why did you let me sleep in, fool!!!'
Makes one feel like George Louis Costanza; you can't catch a break, you just can't win...

Was kinda productive today and logged all my Honda spares into a spreadsheet; P/N, SP/N, description, location, volume...
CMS database comes really handy there, if you've an account it'll show if a P/N entered fits any of your vehicles logged...
This list now should avoid the notorious "over-ordering" in the future...
No one really needs like 9(!) sets of ST1100/NT700 hub dampers, or 8(!) sets of ST1100 carb insulators in stock... :roflmao:

IMG_20250104_122610.jpg IMG_20250104_140754.jpg

So I unearthed a lot of stuff while cleaning and sorting stuff from cardboard boxes into the stack-able plastic ones...
It also showed that the battery of the trusty Dell Latitude Rugged (shown in the left) easily lasts ~8 hrs... nice!

anyway, have a great day yourself...

cheers!

Afternoon Ray & All from mixed clouds & Sun, in Southern Utah!

Currently @ 12:30PM, it is 44F, up from 36F and heading for 49F. The winds are out of the NNE @ 10 to 18mph.

@Peppermint : Patty, I'm glad you were able to spend some time with your sister. I know how hard it is to see loved ones, when their health is heading in the wrong direction. Nice pictures and too bad you weren't able to enjoy the trip more.

I'm still having issues with my eye. I'll continue on the healing the Dr told me too, but the eye is sure a PIA!

I've done it, I have put the '96 ST1100 up for sale. The parameters changed from the first time the bike was offered to me and the time it arrived and after opening her up a little to find the fuel tank, fuel pump/lines and carbs are all crudded up. It turned from you can have it to you can fix it and sell it and we split the profit. So it ain't worth my time or money to rebuild the carbs, clean out the tank, replace the fuel filter, do complete fluid change and new tires. So I'm selling it as a project bike.

ST1100 Project Bike for sale

I went out this morning to feed the birds and start up the tractor for a few minutes. I'm thinking putting the tractor in that shed was probably the smartest thing I could have done with it!

Eggs, bacon, toast & OJ to start the morning. I'll have a Pepsi or two later!

Anyone :dr13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:

Afternoon all, I'm back! Thanks for the cup Ray, it's a bit dark after sittin on the burner all morning, but I added a bit of hot water to tefresh it. We'll see how consistent I am. The end of two weeks of holidays and all the busyness that accompanies it. Chilling a bit today, breakfast w a friend, a little golf channel and then heading out to our local unversity for women's basketball game.
Hoping for chili dogs tonight, depends on what mood the cook is in. I keep hearing and reading about the snow falling across the continent, but so far just cold and rain.
Was outside checking on the bike yesterday and apparently my trickle charger bit the dust. Fortunately, I had a back up, so switched them out and back to a green light. Now, just 90 days to go and it will be time to take her out of moth balls.
Enjoy the day....
Tim
