I am running into an issue with what I thought would be a simple repair. After dissembling, lubricating, and adjusting the throttle cables, I re-installed the throttle cable/kill switch housing. However, as you can see in the photo, I somehow installed the two halves of the housing incorrectly. I have been fussing with it for quite awhile and I am not sure why I can't get both halves of the housing to align. Has anyone else encountered this issue or have any ideas what's wrong. I'm fairly certain that the cables are routed correctly, and the throttle moves freely and snaps closed on release. 20250205_201006.jpg

Call me, that’s an easy fix.
Standing by the white courtesy phone.

There is a locating pin on one of the halves, that has to fit into a small hole in the handlebar.
You need to take that back apart and get the pressure off the plastic pin, or risk breaking it, then nothing will keep the housing from rotating.
Pull the two halves apart and look for the pin/hole etc.

What ^ said... keep rotating it and it will fall into place, there's a sweet spot.

Thanks to Mellow and Igofar for the help! I did find the indent on the underside of the handlebar and matched it to the peg on the lower half of the killswitch assembly. Wouldn't have thought to look there otherwise.

I would've thought that it's meant to have a gap like that, so you can more easily spray contact cleaner in there the next time the switch gives you trouble!!!

(The above "advice" is the reason nobody ever calls me for advice on the
slime green courtesy phone.)
