We have whats called a full section but around us the area has been re zoned for more intense housing so much better houses than ours get sold, pulled off foundations and 6 town houses get added back, in any case builders universally leave nails on the road and it seems i picked one up not to far from home luckily. Was not that hard to find but luckily was in the center and not the shoulder where i know Tyre repair guys will not repair (shoulder punctures)

I am not a fan of those bung Tyre puncture repairs done from the outside unless an emergency repair to get home, they always seem to leak be problematic, i was a Tyre technician in the weekends during high school (college in our terms) and Polytechnic for five odd hungry years.

So had my Motorcycle Mechanic repair, i could have done this myself but getting it on and off the rim would have been a struggle and i don't have a balancing machine, charged me $75 ($43 USD or 33 Pounds) which i thought was okay, this is patched from the inside but has a thin nipple or cone thats on the patch and pulled through the hole and trimmed, also re balanced, probably 30 min work.

Because i have after market mufflers i took the left side muffler off (no relief) to get at the Hex stud inside of the swing arm, also helped with re install and thought i would drain the gear box oil while i was here. We are in the midst of a bathroom install so the garage is a bomb zone of stuff all over the place.

I printed off a guide to finding the three O Ring that need replacing which are difficult to find even after a good wipe down. I have extra sets of O Rings, these are not OEM (price and availability in a country a long way from anywhere), i just purchased from a Hydraulic Seal shop after looking long and hard at the dimensions, for the most part the grease had been retained which is really the name of the game. I work for a forklift and construction equipment firm so the hydraulic Seal shop guy was helpful in trying to get the right fit for me at a price i don't have to explain to the wife.

I can almost feel people warming up for a discussion on molybdenum disulfide grease the the appropriate percentage content, so just to preempt that discussion no i don't have any could not find any within a country or two of me and $$$ so i am using what i have and changing often. Closest i could find was this Penrite Molygrease EP 3%, just being pragmatic and i think with regular changing and the limited mileage the bike is accumulating (1993 and 28K miles) it will out last my riding days.

I really did struggle getting the wheel in and all elements fitted, always seemed to be 5mm short of clearance and battling hard, i had to take a nap mid struggle to re compose myself, in the end i used a block of wood to pre load everything and then it seemed to pop into place.

Got myself my first new Leather Jacket and took it for a run up the Bombay Hills to McDs for an Angus Burger in celebration of not throwing a five year old tantrum in the garage. Seems fine no gear oil or grease leaking out and no rumbling from bearings, will give a closer inspection later.
