It is hard to imagine what those brave sailors, soldiers and airmen experienced on this day in 1941.
Something I learned was that almost half of the US deaths that day occurred on the USS Arizona.
May we never forget the ultimate sacrifice that 2,335 military and 68 civilians paid that day.
When you join the military, you are signing a blank check to defend your country up to and including your life.
May they continue to rest in peace.

As a Brit, I remember this date every year.... kinda hard not to, it's my birthday......

I find some of the accounts from that day quite staggering and will never understand it.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them...........

A visit to Pearl harbour is on my bucket list, but sadly grows less and less likely as the years pass.

I watched a very interesting programme last night about Emelia Erhart crash landing in the Marshall Islands, being captured as a spy by the Japanese and executed on another island by them.
