does anyone know if you can get oil filters for st1100 from auto zone or walmart. if so, do you know the numbers and have you heard any good/bad news.:bow1:

Here is a list of filters. I use the PL14612 filter. The WalMart filter is used by a few people and I have seen reviews on the internet (take that for what it is) that it is a quality filter. I bought one, but since it is a longer filter, when you close up the fairing it touches. I was afraid that it may vibrate against the fairing so I use the shorter filter. The shorter one is the same size as OEM.

(from another thread.. info from Raven)
Here's a list of possible filters:
About 2.5 inches long
? Purolator Pure One PL14612, about $6.
? Mobil M1-108 - about $12. Made by Champion.
? Bosch 3300 - about $6. Made by Champion.

About 3.25 inches long:
? Purolator Pure One PL14610 - about $6.
? Mobil 1 M1-110 - about $10. Made by Champion.
? Bosch 3323 - about $6. Made By Champion.
? WalMart SuperTech ST7317 - about $2. Made by Champion.

I have used all the above at one time or another, plus the appropriate FRAM, never a problem with an oil filter (other than the porous aluminum cover on my then new 69 CB-350, replaced under warranty.)

I'm partial to the Purolator Pure One PL14610. It's longer than the PL14612, but short enough it still fits. I figure that's a little more filtration material to benefit me. I especially like that filter now that they've switched from the shiny blue paint to the gold colored rubber grip paint on the whole filter. It makes it easier to hand tighten it (which is how I do it). And Advance Auto carries it along with Mobil 1 for bikes.
