'04 ST1300,
So it's winter, and I'm taking my time taking the fairings off to do the timing belt. I'm cleaning the fairings and having a bit of a look around on my new-to-me 2001 looking for whatever. I happened to notice a pair of wires, solid red and solid black in what appears to be factory connectors leading from the left side of the bike in front of the airbox ending up with the wires splitting into 4 spade connectors with what looks like OEM clear little covers over the spade connectors. The 4 spade connectors are just sitting there, not connected to anything. Now I was told this was a non-ABS bike and the wires seemed a little heavier gauge then the rest of the wires. Does anyone have a clue what these wires are for? I will be getting the manual shortly from one of the forum members here but when I looked online I didn't see any red/black pairs in a two wire block connector listed anywhere.

I have the right fairings off, I'll have to work on the left ones next and see where they go. There's switches in the L/H fairing so.....maybe? There's just an unused communication box in the tail area which I'm going to pull and I want to see what all the modified wiring is.
Weird thing is the wires, connectors, and ends all look OEM.

Honda uses both red and black as hots. What are the colors of the four wires?

If they're original Honda wire colors, we'll recognize them. Well, some of us will.

It may be that someone used factory or aftermarket wires and just did a neat job.

It's only two wires at the junction block splitting off to 4 spade connectors, 2 red 2 black. I'll see when I get the fairing off if it's OEM or someone has tapped into the harness somewhere.

The three switches and the accessory plug that are mounted in your left fairing pocket cover are not Honda OEM. These wires probably have something to do with whatever those switches are running.

That's a very nicely done aftermarket wiring. ;)
My hunch they are somehow connected to those aux switches and heated gear plug in the left-hand fairing lid.

BTW, if that left lid is a solid piece of plastic instead of being flexible, it is aftermarket.
I forget who made those solid 'lids' wayback. ;)
It certainly is (the missing handle is a giveaway)
I even have one on stock, never installed it though...
Weren't their sold by some GL1500 accessory shop?
