Mr. Donaldson - R.I.P. 10/15/2014

The time zone line follows the Apalachicola River and extends South down to Apalachicola Bay. Most maps appear to show it as a hard line for time zones, however . . . Apalachicola and Port St Joe elected to be in the Eastern Time Zone as that's where most of their business opportunities are. So, both are on EDT. Panama City, just North of Port St Joe is on Central.

You can go see the monument to the boll weevil in Enterprise, AL when you are at Ft. Rucker. Not every town has a statue of an insect in the middle of the road (this may only appeal to entomologists that worked in cotton). I rode down there a few years ago from an entomology meeting in Montgomery just to see the monument.

If you're at the statue, there's a building whose West facing wall depicting the statue and how it came to be there. It's at the NE corner of the square in which the statue sits that's . . . pretty impressive too.

Thanks for that great info, Shuey!

I'm still looking for an available campsite to share. Depending on a cancellation was not the way to go, I see now.

John, I have campsite #111 booked for Friday and Saturday night which I would be happy to share with you.

Only a few more weeks until this event. I plan to round up as many digital pictures of Bob that I have and burn the full size pictures onto CDs or memory chips to pass along to his family.

Della and I rode with him quite a bit and spent a lot of time together. I know that I have several really good pics and lots of so-so pics of Bob. I'm thinking that passing these on to his family is the best way to share our memories with his family. I know that I would have enjoyed having more pictures of my grandparents and other friends/relatives that I spent time with over the years.

I would encourage anyone else who thinks this is a good idea to do the same. I know from past conversations that Bob held the members of the st-owners group as some of his most treasured friends and that we shared good times.

Good idea Randy. I don't have tons but the ones I have of Bob you are welcome to if you want. Not trying to make your job bigger but if you would like to have them let me know. The down side is I have now opened the door for many people to inundate you with pics. Please let me know if I should send them.
Thanks Randy

These are my last pictures of Bob. They were taken at ArkanSTOC about a month before he passed.

Here are a few from the one time I got to ride any distance with Bob. Young Bob and I left with Bob from NatSToc in '12 I think. I thoroughly enjoyed our ride and time. You, Randy, were fortunate to have gotten so much time with him.
RIP Bob.

That is a nice shot Joe. I just loved seeing Bob's easy smile as you walked up to great and hug him.

I mentioned earlier today to a couple other member that I sure miss Bob. And I only knew him for a few years of his life. I look forward to seeing everyone to Honor a very good mans life!
