Motorcyclist killed by sinkhole

I had a friend in one of the prison ministries I was involved in die from riding into an open manhole.

I know someone who was walking along the sidewalk and stepped on a manhole cover and it gave way. She fell down the hole and only stopped when her hips lodged in the hole. This chewed her legs up quite badly as the edges of the manhole scraped all the way up her legs as she slid down. This was decades ago and to this day she will not step on a manhole cover.

Manhole covers... hadn't thought about them, but now that I am... I always avoid riding over them when possible.
I use them for swerving practice when I see manhole covers.

Been going around them for years, would be nice if paving Crews would match the man holes so they weren't so bumpy.

Yes. Even in Ontario sink holes can happen.
Be careful out there.
