Looking for advice on these centre stand types of motorcycle dolly's...anyone have any experience with this simple looking dolly? Kind of expensive at $175 - $199. Anything less expensive?

$199 seems outrageous for that center stand dolly. I could easily build something for a hell of a lot less. I think the one from Harbor Freight would be a lot more stable than trying to roll a 700 lb bike around on just some casters under the center stand.

I built a motorcycle spinner at work for the purpose of taking pics of the bikes for the website that consisted of a $9 lazy susan from Menards that is normally used for kitchen cabinets. I bolted it to the top of a steel shipping crate from a Yamaha Grizzly and added a piece of 3/4" plywood with a couple smaller pieces on each end to work as ramps to roll the bikes in and off and some indoor-outdoor to make it look nice. Even with a giant GL1800 Gold Wing on it as long as I use the center stand I can easily spin the bike with my foot. I added a ball bearing castor at each corner so it didn't totter when roll the bikes on and off. Here's a pic I took of a Triumph Tiger 800XC on it.

If you just wanted something to spin your ST around on a center stand you could easily just bolt a smaller steel plate to the lazy susan and spin it. I built the platform to work on a variety of bikes and ATV so mine is a bit overkill. I know it's not on casters so it's a bit off topic but I figured I'd throw it out there.

I have the Park N Move. Works great for me on a smooth cement floor and allows me to pack my bike in the corner, ride it into the garage and spin it around so I can just ride it out. Very stable on the center stand. They tell you not to work on it while it's on the dolly but you know we never follow directions. There is a video on youtube that shows you how to get it up and then back off the dolly, this is a must watch.

Yes, I really like the Park N Move type of dolly. Can't justify the $199 + shipping + customs duty (Canada). While the castors are only about $28, it's finding the correct gauge and shape of the metal thats the problem.

In May 2007, while on a three-week ride to Alaska, Aaron came up with the idea for the Park-n-Move. By December 2007 the Park-n-Move was a reality and it was debuted at the International Motorcycle Show in Long Beach, California. Shortly thereafter, Motorcycle Consumer News awarded LEGAL SPEEDING the Innovation of the Month, February 2008, for the Park-n-Move. This was the second time LEGAL SPEEDING was honored with this award. At this time we do not know of any other company that has won the Innovation of the Month award twice.
I see they're still claiming to have invented this. Bizarre. The Park-n-Move is almost an exact copy of something I bought in Germany over ten years ago, and which had been manufactured in stamped steel form by Telefix (MotoBoy) since the mid-1980s.

Not sure they ship to the 'States, but here's one for EUR40: http://www.louis.de/_1058bc8bd28a71062175bbb89442a7e177/index.php?topic=artnr_gr&artnr_gr=10003235

$11.00 CDN lazy susan swivel plate at Home Depot, mount a thin piece of any old scrap steel to it as a platform and your good to go- the span between the centre stand legs is so small you don't need any special high strength steel. I know it is only rated for 1, 000 LBS. but I made one and it works just fine. It may not have the longevity of the pricey true motorcycle dollies but for that price you can buy a new one every five years.

Real cheap...
Picked up 2 alum signs ( like old stop signs ) from a scrap dealer for $10... put a carriage bolt in the middle of both, also slopped a bit of grease in the middle before nut went on.
I roll the bike in and put on center stand, a push on the tail and the bike pivots real easy...But I don't spin the bike around, more like just 60d to get it tight in the center of 2 car garage.

Ah, well curiosity got the better of me and I emailed www.louis.de and asked if they ship to the 'States and they do not (nor to Canada, but they do ship to Mexico, go figure...) When I first started shopping in Germany 20 years ago nobody sold anything over the internet and nobody took credit cards--I opened a German bank account when I was living there, and I kept it ever since simply so I could transfer money using the "Giro Konto" system they were all using. Anyway, for good measure, I also checked POLO and Hein Gericke, but neither ship outside of Europe (and HG is currently experiencing "technical problems" related to their parent company's...er...bankruptcy). VISA and MasterCard are now commonplace in Germany, as well as online shopping, but I was apparently hoping for too much re shipping to the USA! Sorry, guys.

I made one from a lazy susan bearing and a 3/16 steel plate.
