Monday November 4th Café.

Good morning and thanks Ray. 72, raining and that pretty much sums up the next two days. Dentist visit this morn followed by who knows.

I imagine Mark is headed to Cleveland to grab the Blackbird just listed on this site.

Stay safe!!

Morning Ray & All from mixed clouds and SUN, in Southern Utah!

Currently it is 38F, up from 29F and heading for 45F. The wind is already blowing form the NE @ 11 to 18mph. Could get up to 23mph, later.

I'll be out unloading the shed boxes. I can't believe they can't figure out a way to start the first box with things you could start assembling it with, instead of having to empty all three boxes first! :well1:

At least I have the big shed out there to put the parts and then be able to start working on it in there. They want you to put the roof rafters together first, before even putting the floor down! :shrug1:

I can tell, I'll have my work cut out for me this week!

Chris and I had bagels for breakfast. I washed mine down with a Pepsi.

Anyone :bl13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:

Morning all! It is a wet grey day again out there. The rain has tapered off a bit, it was coming down in buckets when I first let the dogs out early this morning. Even still, I was jonesing to ride the ST into work today, it's been over a week since I rode, but alas, I had way too much stuff to take back into the office after a week of working from home. Tomorrow.....

It was a somewhat busy but pleasant ride up to Nanaimo to pick up my wife. We were going to meet in the Costco parking lot but when I got there it was a zoo so my wife suggested the Michaels (knick knacky arts and crafts store) parking lot which like a rookie I agreed to. Sure enough the famous words "I'm just going to duck into Michaels for a couple things, won't be long" floated on the air. An hour later.... Ah well, gave me a chance to let the dogs have a roam and empty their bladders before heading back home. Plus, she was happy and excited about what she had found for Xmas stockings and craft sessions. Hard, and cruel, to be annoyed in the face of bubbling excitement so I squashed my inner curmudgeon and made appropriate noises of amazement and appreciation.

Obo, the last couple new vehicles I bought before this last one I used a service Unhaggle.com. You plug in the vehicle you want with the options you require. They solicit offers from dealers, you choose the one you want and just show up at the dealer to pick up the vehicle. No mess, no fuss and the salespeople have told me they prefer it as well. Looks like their rates have gone up, $500, since I used it. I think it was $300 when I did but I found it worth it to avoid wasting a weekend or two with the stupid haggle dance with the salesperson or their manager.

Hope everyone has a great day and enjoys their craft, whatever it may be!

There's no haggle here on price. The listed price is what you pay (plus all the non-shown extras..) If you want to haggle, you've got to look at privately sold used cars. Gone are the days of negotiating pm anything new. Heck, you can't even negotiate for a McDonald's hamburger....

Obo, correct me if my memory is wrong, was your last car a VW with turbo problems?

Yup. Sucker for punishment......

Mind you the Golf R uses a different (larger) turbo.

A full warranty (with the extended warranty) is a good thing too. Then get rid of it before that runs out. Flip and forget might be my new motto.

True. Our last vehicle the only negotiation was whether they would throw in an extra key fob and winter tires. It was also a fight to get them to let us pay cash, they were pretty set on making us finance so they can get the lender kickback.

I had a 2009 diesel Jetta wagon. I loved that car. Then the ex filled it with regular gas and told me she couldn't promise it wouldn't happen again. Sold it at a loss even after the entire fuel system was replaced. But it was a hoot to drive. Plenty of grunt and held corners like it was on a rail or like it was a bike.

When my GF ordered her stylish metal garden shed including a large side canopy + back-wall, I switched into "nerd-mode", thus downloaded and studied all manuals in advance...
So when that big truck arrived, dropping the pallet with all the big, heavy cartons at her feet, which we then had to haul about 550 yards onto her property, we already knew which ones to keep on top while stacking to start (the build) from the bottom...
Still took us two full days to assemble...
