HI Guys,

I am looking for an SMC kit. My local dealer says it will be a back order up to 3 months.

I found 'Worldwide Automotive Spares' on Facebook who state they have in stock and can ship to Australia.

Has anyone here heard of, or used them, and are they reputable?

Any other suggestions of who can supply would be greatly appreciated.

Most of the spares places online are stating it is a special order and they don't have stock.

Any help would be great so I can get riding again soon.

Thanks

I bought one from Japan a year ago.
Check out Megazip.net

They were fast and reliable.

Good luck!

While some have had success with the SMC rebuild kit, the general consensus is it's better to replace the whole SMC.
The are tiny ports inside that get blocked, and they can't be cleaned. If the bore of the piston wall is damaged as well, the rebuild will either fail, or not last long.
If you're going to have to replace and bleed the fluid, why not do it once vs a possible twice. Pay a little more for a higher success rate?
My 2 cents.

I'll also rep webike, bought an SMC from them last summer.

Went up 5000 yen since I bought it :(

So, the Bracket sub assembly includes the SMC complete?

Just to confirm. I'm a newbie at this.

My new 08+ SMC arrived today.
I rebuilt one ok but after seeing inside it and seeing cutaway views showing how little it takes to clog up, I just put whole new units on the next bikes that I bought. And flush the fluid once a year.
I wish I could find you the post with the cutaway. There is also a comparison showing a lower mileage SMC fouled up and a high mileage SMC that looked great. Flushing more often is the difference.
