It's Truancy Sunday Cafe!

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the GMD Dave, and for the pancakes. Tiramisu? That's a new variety of flapjack for me but what the heck... I'll have a go. Hit me.

It's 28°F and cloudy in Rockville, where we expect a high around 35 and cold rain to begin around 1400 hours and continue into the overnight. That reminds me, I'm overdue to get the snow blower out and make sure it'll start when it's wanted. Good thing to put on today's agenda. After uke practice, of course.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them.

Good morning Dave and all

I'll try a cup of coffee and a pancake. I need the calories for internal heating this morning . It is 6F (-14C) here under cloudy skies. The high should be 28F for a few minutes just before sunset. The coming week looks interesting, temps possibly hitting 50 but mostly in the 30s ... maybe some snow, maybe some rain. It looks like a good week to work indoors.

Yesterday I trailered my ST1300 a good 100 feet. I had to get it out of the garage and into the storage shed to make room for my new side-by-side (Honda Pioneer 700 - doesn't fit thru the shed door). The driveway is icy and there is snow in front of the shed, so, drop the trailer ramp on the garage apron, load the ST, move to the shed, drop the trailer ramp onto the shed ramp and roll right off. No worries about traction! Of course when I parked the trailer afterwards I stepped out of the truck onto an ice patch and took a tumble. Rolling out of bed this morning revealed a few sore spots! Tylenol is the word of the day.

My eldest wants to go look at the woodlot I recently bought so we will likely take a ride there once the temperature reaches double digits.

Be safe, be happy, and for heaven's sake stay away from ice patches!!

Tiramisu. A pancake infused with a liquid such as rum or coffee, layered with mascarpone cheese, and topped with cocoa or grated chocolate.

I had them yesterday for the first time and was amazed by the texture and flavor.

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee and pancakes, Dave.
We'll go for some 3D pancakes, when Brenda gets to the house.

It's 13f here in MA this morning, but clear and sunny.
The temperature should rise to 35 as it becomes cloudy, later.

I made it to the gym and dog walk, yesterday, while Brenda went shopping with her girlfriend.

Today, I'll hang out for a while, until Brenda gets to the house. Then we'll find breakfast.
Her company Christmas party is tonight at Patriot's Place, where we'll take the museum tour, before dinner. It should be good.

Enjoy the day,
Steve

Ay up. Ta me duck'ster.
And on that note I've just been ushering a big duck across the road. No road sense at all. Not the duck, me!
Our guests are presently on a jolly to see other folk before returning later. Pffffffftttttt.
Meanwhile, I've reset the TPMS after replacing the tyre, then I had to figure out other things that needed a reset. New cars ain't half a pain. If I wanted to drive a computer I'd open up the laptop. Meh.
Hopefully the day will proceed slowly and uneventfully.
Av a gud un and remember, they always come back.
Upt.

Morning all, and thanks for the startup, Dave.

I'll harvvv another of those pancake thingzzz please, *hic*

Just finished the "free" hotel breakfast. Not the worst I've ever had. Will be on the road soon me thinks. -7C and sunny out, but a thick layer of frost abounds. Looks like sunny all the drive, and temps up to -1C.

See you all later,

Obo.

Good morning, all, and thanks for the coffee and fascinating variety of pancake, Dave! I'll be more than happy to try one!

We have a mix of sun and clouds today, and it's cold - even more so than yesterday. Right now, the temperature is -12°C/10°F, which is chilly enough, thank you, but the windchill is -19°C/-2°F. We'll see a high of -7°C/19°F with a feels-like of -12°C/10°F before the day is out. I have a few errands to run, so "bundle up" is the order of the day...and I suspect the car's heated steering wheel and seat will be put to good use. I'll be getting together with the other intrepid members of my hiking/ski club for our annual holiday party later - dinner at a lovely little restaurant on the waterfront. Should be fun.

Everyone have a great day, stay safe and go safely.

Safe home, @Obo!

Patty

Good morning all!
Thanks for the yummy start Dave!
I must point out that you forgot the hugs!
Ray might not get back from crossing the road!
BTW
Was he thinking he was a chicken?? Why did he want to cross the road anyway?
Too many darn ponderings!
Presently 71F & sunny!
Safe travels today Obo!
Enjoy your Sunday!

Good morning, all. Thanks for the start, Dave. I’ll have to find that recipe and give it a shot…or two.

Wet and blustery this morning. Rained most of the night, staying around 47 degrees. Rain is expected to move out soon, with temperature reaching 55.

I believe I’ll do some declutterring of the house today. Do I really need 4 old printers, that I’m going to fix……someday? I’ll probably donate most of the 30-40 shirts, hanging in the closet. Same with several (many?) pairs of pants that have shrunken over the years. Anybody need phone chargers and cords? I have a drawer full….in every room! Pffftttt. Let’s start by backing the truck up to the back door.

Morning Dave & All from sunny, and COLD, Southern Utah!

Currently it is 29F, up from 23F, and heading for 47F. The winds were howling all night, but seemed to settle down now. Later, they will be out of the N@ 7 to 9mph.

We did it! Chris and I finished putting her cabinets together and she is very happy with them! Happy Wife, happy Life! ;)

Not much besides church, today!

Boiled eggs, bacon, toast & OJ to start the morning. Pepsi(s) to come later.

Anyone :bl13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:

Morning all! It's 4C with partly cloudy skies. A high of 7C is predicted for later along with a bit of rain and then more sun. Weather as indecisive as me at a buffet.....

Didn't get the bike to the shop yesterday as the shop was closed. Winter hours I guess. It re-opens Tuesday so it may not be till the end of the week that I can get it there. Ah well, cage life it is for the next week or so.

My wife's family arrives early this afternoon. Visiting will be on the agenda for a couple hours and then we'll go have an early dinner. I may have to be absent for a portion of the visiting. They are great people but I only have the energy to be interactive for so long, then I have to shut down and re-boot. As I age, the hermit lifestyle gains in appeal.....

Hope the trip home goes...went...well Obo, that's a metric crap tonne o' driving.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Life is good. After hauling the snowblower out of the shed (and after first unburying it ftom beneath all the junk that ends up atop it in the non-snow months) I checked the fuel level (plenty for the purpose of readiness testing), oil (same), and tire inflation (left tire needs air, as usual after prolonged disuse), I plugged the starter in, set the choke to Full, and hit the primer bulb three times.

Pushed the starter button, and... the engine fired, started, and ran smoothly within a second of the time the starter engaged.

Woo hoo!

:run1: :run1: :run1: :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

My day is complete, even if I still can't play a scale or do the island strum on the ukeulele, let alone play a recognizable tune.

Thx Dave!
Good stuff!

Unusual mild, 10˚c/50f, 35mph breeze from the ocean, rain.
A tough walk today.

A visit to the inlaws now.
Mrs Stus brother just got diagnosed with some kind of lymphom cancer, so it’s all a bit low keyed.
He will be admitted tomorrow to find how bad it is.

There must be a beer later.

Have a good one!
Stu

Homed safe. Only ran over a couple of things I shouldn't have. All were inanimate, now and before.

Things I missed hitting: large roadkill in the center of the road, a set of car roof racks, a full sized antique chair.

I did run over some other unknown things made of either plastic and or metal, but they broke and flew around behind the car. No visible damage and no flat tires. I take that as a win.

Didn’t get as much done as expected. Got caught up watching a bit of football. Fixed dinner, then walked Teddy around the yard, letting him sniff the odors and apply some new ones.

When we came in, he headed straight to bed and settled in for the night and I was just about ready to join him, when I glanced at the clock and it read 6:00 PM! Since I hate waking up at 2:00 AM, I decided to stay up a bit. At least til 7:00.

Nite, all,

John

Unusually for me I've made it to 9:30, though I dozed off several times this afternoon watching documentary films about the cosmos. My snoring woke me each time. Glad I have a CPAP machine for overnight use.

Now the two million dollar question: is it actually a CPAP or is it a BIPAP?
The bonus question is: or is it a APAP?

I won't hold my breath for the answer though.
