Infrared (no wires) heated jacket at Powerlet?

For what it is worth to the ST-Owners forum. Our gear is not WNS gear. In previous generations, our gear was very similar to that of First Gear and WNS gear. Subtle differences, longer warranties and better and more reactive customer support is what made purchasing gear from us, of greater value.
We worked hard in the last year especially to differentiate our line of gear and the proof is in the FIR gear that is out this year. Sure in the future, others will try to copy these designs but for now, our staff designed what we believe to be the cutting edge in the next generation of heated apparel.
These liners are not made in any of the same plants as WNS or First Gear. They are entirely new, innovative, and incorporate features that others have not. At the end of the day, you need to be confident that the company behind the gear will support you as the customer and I am extremely confident that the gear you purchase from Powerlet will not only be superior in quality, fit and finish, but the after sales support, friendly and courteous staff here at Powerlet should make your purchase experience even better.
We stand behind each and every piece we sell and our reputation in the industry is very very good. We welcome any and all inquiries and appreciate the opportunity to try to clear the air to many of the postings that are made by some that just do not know all the facts.
In closing, remember one last thing. We are a smaller MI based firm, trying to make a difference in this tough economy. Most of all of our products are either made here in the USA or final assembled here in the states. We keep numerous suppliers here in and around the Detroit area busy. We outsource our crafted or machined assemblies along with the finishing work that is required in order to be of the best quality available.
Our focus is to provide to you the ST-owner and motorcycle enthusiast the highest quality products and services that are rugged enough for your needs. Please remember, we employ many hard working, dedicated and quality conscious people and our ongoing growth and impact in the community are all as a result of the wonderful customers that enjoy our products. Thanks to all of you. Ride safe.:D

Powerlet, a question:

Looking at the photo in the link, it appears there is only one connector from the liner to a heattroller. Warm'n'safe liners have two, so that you can control the heat level of the liner and the gloves separately.

Does this liner offer that capability? If not, it's a non-starter in my book. I always need more juice to the gloves than the liner, in any temp.

To clarify, the jacket liner has a primary lead that comes out the inside of the garment. This one lead is provided in order to simplify the primary connection. Inside the garment we engineered the ability for it to house our line of wireless controllers, (but it works fine with other controllers too). The receiver gets put into the garment where both the primary lead and a secondary glove lead are plugged into.

This method permits the rider to separate the gloves from the jacket and control them independently. It was a convenience feature we did incorporate and permits the gloves to be dialed in higher or lower than the main body garment. We also incorporate a nicely finished concealed glove lead at the ends of the sleeves in order to make plugging the gloves a snap.

Other features include an integrated storage pouch along the back of the garment that when unzipped, the liner folds in upon itself and becomes it's own storage pouch.
Again, this RapidFIRe liner has a wind and water resistant outer soft shell with integrated expansion panels in key areas to promote greater comfort.

As an added feature, for those riders that do not have the output capacity on their bikes, you have the ability with the new RapidFIRe liner to switch from 105 watts to 60 watts. On the inside of the garment, we offer the ability to quickly change the total output on the garment so it does not overload your vehicles output capacity. Not an issue on certain bikes, but a big issue for those of you that may have a couple different bikes and perhaps one that is a dual sport that has a weak alternator. So be mindful of this and if you may not be aware of what your vehicle can handle.

We invite members to take a look at the tool we offer on our site that allows you to enter the year, make and model of bike and find out what EEC or Excess Electrical capacity your bike has. We take into consideration things like fuel injection, lighting and other normal operating loads when feeding you back the amount that your bike has left to power accessories like heated apparel etc.
It is free and a convenience to all those looking to mount gear on their bike(s).

Last point , and it is important; our gear is fully compatible with the other brands mentioned in this forum that utilize the coax connection. So dismiss any of the naysayers that say otherwise. We are the factory and we are fine with you using our controllers and gear with other manufacturers. At the end of the day, it is what you want and making sure you are not tied to say one entire line, we focus on compatibility and greater comfort.

So go out and ride and forget about the BS, ride safe.

My preference is for a breathable (not necessarily wind/waterproof) fabric so you don't sweat to death. Also, making a 100 watt item seems wrong to me, as now the difference between pants/socks is greater when they are on the same controller. Gloves are and should be separately controlled. Already at 90 watts, the jacket liner is too hot, and most times I run it on a low setting. This is a bit too low for the socks and pants. Probably a 75 watt liner would be more appropriate, as you'll not use all that capacity anyway, or at least I won't.
It's a three horse race, Warm & Safe is right up there too.

I met a few of the Powerlet employees at the Advanstar DealerExpo show here in Indy back in February. They had the glove liners "on" in the booth so I tried a pair on and also tried the jacket on to determine what size I would need. Having never had heated gear, the liners were impressive and will compliment my heated grips nicely.

I went ahead and just ordered the jacket liner and wireless controller kit as well as the glove liners. Hoping they come in early next week so I can use them on my way over to Moonshine next Saturday. If so, will be more than happy to let anyone check them out while I'm there and will also write a review, however since I won't be able to compare them to previous versions of technology/other brands, I don't know how helpful my review will be. :)

I got both the glove and jacket liners. I've had them on the freeway/highway down to the upper 20's. Much improved over the previous versions. Having them both on, along with the grip heaters and the aux lights, puts a strain on the electrical system, and the jacket doesn't get quite as hot, as when I turned off the aux lights (PIAA 912 xtras). I'm plead with them.
