I'm heading down to Georgia from Louisville, KY in a few days, will trailer my ST1300 if plans hold. We normally travel I-40 East out of Knoxville to the Clyde, NC exit where we drop down to eventually get US441 south into Georgia. Does anybody know of closures along this route?

I40 is closed at the TN/NC border and the 'solution' is a long detour up I81 and down another interstate.
I would look at getting off near Gatlinburg, take 441 through the Park if it is open, then 19 east into North Carolina.

Well now I'm glad you asked that question.

We are visiting relatives in NE Georgia where my wife and I both grew up. This is specifically in Habersham County which is at the foothills of some of the best twisty riding in the country. I spent quite a few mornings watching the sun come up at Two Wheels Only (now Two Wheels of Suches). I grew up on those roads and fished the lakes with my dad many times.

This was made a few years back on top of the Russell Highway near Helen. I know those roads like the roof of my mouth. If you have not ridden them you are missing a great time. For years my riding friends would gather in April and October at my family's old homestead at Mud Creek, GA (real place), but my sister finally retired and remodeled the old place and moved in...we no longer have use of it.
