Honda ST1300 police switches

If it is like the ST1100, one of the two hitachi plugs plugs right in to the main harness. The 'switch' wires you have to provide the power from an auxiliary source for each one. I usually have the switches fire relays and let the relays carry the bulk of the power. So it's fused hot in and switched hot out to a relay. Note that when 2 is on, 1 and 2 are one, and 3 is on (momentary), 1 2 and 3 are on.

these switches used pairs of wires that go to the rear of the bike (under the police rear cowl). Depending on how much of the police equipment was removed, they may or may not terminate in relays in the same area. The vertical slide switch should be connected via relay for the headlight. I use switch position 1 for aux running lights, and switch position 2 for paralleling a second battery. there is a schematic on this site for the wiring of the switches - I used a voltmeter to determine which switches corresponded to what pairs of the wires. To my surprise, switch 4 was controlling strobes in the "position lights" on my 2009 PA

Do a search for police switch, or just the word police. There have been a few threads that talk about what the various switch positions did on p bikes, and the coloring of wires that were associated with them. And, as already mentioned, wiring diagrams.
