2002 ST1100
Picked up a 2002 ST1100 yesterday. Never owned one.
Got given it free of charge.
Apparently it goes well and the clock shows 17000ks but it may have been clocked.
It is a Honda so I expect it will be a decent bike.
Has anyone ever taken the ton of plastic off one of these and run a bobber type stripped down version?
I want to lose ABS, move lots around and have a bare bones bike. Any photos in here to look at?
Looking forwards to doing this and riding it.
Ok thanks

How is the bodywork? Personal opinion, you’ll miss the cargo capacity if all is in decent shape and you’ll have to put some $$$ into it in order to make it a stripped version. It’s doable and there are pics on a Google search (I just looked up ‘ST1100 bobber’ and saw a lot of conversions). To lose ABS (without major tear down), just remove the fuses for ABS (and pull the lights from behind the instrument panel so you’re not getting flashed due to the perceived faults). My 94 is now a non ABS bike because it had some issues I was not able to correct (I assume due to non existent parts). I’d rather have it but the bike runs fine without the system electrically on.

Hey, bodywork is pretty good.
Much prefer a stripped down look.
Won't be carrying anything other than what I am wearing.
I will look at the ABS answer for sure, and thanks for that.

In my opinion they look ugly naked, CX/Gl 500/650 look much better as a cafe racer.
Thanks for the response mate.
Because it was free and given to me and apparently runs well, there is no real outlay except for a few bits and pieces.
And a bit of time as well.
Plus, I have a preference for sort of ugly different, that goes quickly.
This should be all of that.
And fun.
Very darned good thing you won't be riding it then.
One never knows. But, let's see how it goes.
