Hope everyone is starting 2025 as well as can be. As for me, things are looking all right. So I offer a puzzle to all the gurus out there. The white courtesy phone did try to return my calls (thank you).

Just before the New Year I rode about 20 miles when...........the bike felt like I lost a cylinder. When I stopped, the idle was down and I heard intermittent growl/grinding?
Did the unthinkable and rode it home on side roads. Compression test 175psi (forgot to open throttle) on all four cylinders. Spark plugs look normal (Iridiums) , Oil level good, coolant level good. No smoking. Upon startup, that off/on growl. Hmmm. So, before I dismantle, I'd appreciate some feedback. Dog gone. I've never even seen a post in the over 7years on this site regarding something like this. Bike has 99k miles.

Riding is still one of the most beautiful things I experience in my life. :)

I’ve called three times, and today left another voice message?

Here ya go IgoFar. Water Pump weep hole, 2022 and 2025 balance shafts, intermittent clunk noise 2025 front right.

(2025 clunk video)

That sounds like cylinder misfiring but it's hard diagnosing from a video. Condition of the low voltage12V wires to the coils? Does wiggling these cause worse, better? Is there evident of arcing in one or more of the high voltage wires to the spark plugs (run it in a darkened room?). Is one of the catalytic convertors or mufflers a different hue than the other?

Sure sounds like an intermittent misfire which is just shaking the mechanical bits around. So the obvious candidates would be the spark plug, plug boot and coil for starters. Then maybe a dirty injector. Are there any fault codes?

First thing I would do/check after hearing your video, is to check your spark plugs to see if they are loose, and check your plug wires and caps, and throw away your iridium plugs, as they could have been knock off ones, that gave up the ghost.
Before you start ripping stuff apart and doing major surgery, I'd start checking the simple stuff first.
You could have had a vacuum line pop off etc.
Your counter balance adjusters were quite a bit off.
Have you checked your wires and stuff around the back of your radiator? You could have something touching your radiator fan shroud that spins.
Have you checked your exhaust system to see if its loose anywhere?
I wouldn't pull the front of the engine off to "look" at the water pump impeller, because you may not see anything from the front that would help, unless it started working forward and is hitting the cover, and you can check that my listening to it, and feeling it.
You said you replaced the alternator a while back, have you done anything with your clutch system?
Maybe you threw out a bearing?

Thank you everyone for your input. I've been dealing with another vehicle dilemma. I removed front engine cover and.........all appears well. Next step is remove Iridium spark plugs and replace with oem.
