Google Maps

Yea it seems you either have to print it out, send to you phone or what I do is copy the link and put it in a maps to GPX converter

The best thing currently is to click the "copy link" and stick the link in an email to yourself. The send directions to your phone is a one time thing to the phone. the emailed link will last longer.

You have to be logged into your Google Account to see the "Saved" link on the LHS of Google Maps. Click on that link and you'll see the "Maps" button where you can save and edit maps under the "My Maps" link.

You can export any Google map as a KML/KMZ file which can be converted to GPX for importing into a GPS.

I created this article on how to create and edit a Google Map from Basecamp

Got it Andy. Now I have to play with it a bit. Thanks

When you create a route in Google Maps you simply "share" it with yourself. Send it to your phone or email the link. There are options right in the routing to do that. I often make a route in Google Maps and save the route as an email to myself that I can open and run on my phone. I'll also CC my wife so she knows what route I'll be on when traveling LD.
