Gmail is now starting with Google Workspace?

Gmail is now starting a few seconds after seeing a Google Workspace screen with a progress bar..
This began just this week. I've not made any changes.
What the heck is Google Workspace? and I don't want it.

Are you referring to Gmail in an internet browser?

I've been seeing this for some time now, maybe months? I shut down the computer daily and when restarting the browser window where Gmail lives, I get the workspace splash screen.

Google has lots of information (google google workspace) on workspace where you can inform yourself on the features. Gmail is one of the features.

You aren't paying for Gmail are you? You get what Google wants not what you want. If you really don't want it, buy a Microsoft Outlook license or install a freeware email client, there are plenty out there. You can still connect to your Gmail account.
