Gaskets for the Air-Box

Dang things are nare easy to find. Some have said use stuff from a home-improvement store, others have said it's fine to ride without it. But it bothers me on my ST1100 that it's not "right". So I bought a new-to-me airbox that included used gaskets. It also has the luxury of both clips for the mini air-filter thingy. Anywho, having the old gaskets now in hand I'm able to determine that they are two different widths, specifically two 5mm and two 3mm

I bought these:

Used some gasoline-safe rubber cement for the 3mm stuff, and 4mm gasoline-safe double sided tape/film.

Take a look at the results!

Reminds me mine has been flat as a pancake for awhile now. Seems to run ok though. I may do this trick.

I did notice the squared-ness of the 3mm stuff. but the area it goes into is closer to 2.75mm. I figured the squish on the round will eventually make it squared not like OE stuff, but similar in a way. One thing I appreciate with the new gaskets is the positive pressure when joining the parts. I can see where it meets the seal and then you have to push the seal in a ways to have the plastics actually come together tightly. I'm talking about 2mm worth of squish. For me knowing the air is going through the correct places and therefore I know things like AFR are as intended. To pre-answer @Uncle Phil I am going to just ride, when she is right.
