Ay up, just back from Berwick-upon-the icy-Tweed.
The Italian Dark Roast is ready, help ya'selves.
Baby it's cold outside, 24 to 39, very light covering of snow and blue skies.
This from yesterdays walk in the Breamish Valley which is local.

Good coffee was found in the valley cafe and cake was possibly partaken. The coffee was unexpected, it was the sort of place where I almost ordered tea.....I know.....but it was a very nice Americano. Strong but not bitter, a bit like Obo but not bitter.
Av a gud un and remember, the trees must come down.
Pffffffftttttt.
Upt.

Morning all, and thanks Ray for the coffee.

As I'm often informed I'm not sweet, ergo I must be bitter then.

-4C and snow for the car commute to work this morning. Will see -8C later in the day.

The Mrs. asked for tickets to a specific show for Christmas, which we went to last night after going out for dinner. We're sitting in the preshow, chatting about the last time we saw something similar, and she pulled up her photo memories thing on her phone. Turns out we saw the exact show back in 2019, at the same venue. Seems it was my fault I didn't inform her it was the same show. Heck, I didn't even have any idea when we'd last been in the venue, let alone what shows we've seen. I'm just the ticket buyer, chauffeur and arm/eye candy. She's supposed to be the brains of the organization. Perhaps that's what makes me less sweet and more bitter?

Regardless, hope everyone has a great day and remembers one lump is less painful that two.

Obo.

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the coffee as usual Ray. Lovely piccie you added, and also @STooRay yours are always a treat as well.

It's 28°F and calm in Rockville as the pre-sunup light begins to filter into the sky. It's still that tricky time where it's hard to say whether the sky is clear or cloudy but the Windows weather app says "cloudy" so I'm going with that. If it turns out otherwise, don't blame me; I'm just reporting what I'm being told.

I started the process of filing for an eVisa to enter Vietnam in about a month, but the required secondary photo produced "only" an 84.68% match with my passport photo so the application website said my application could be rejected. Rather than deal with a brainless entity such as a computer, or risk paying for an application that could be rejected, we're electing to go personally to the Embassy of Vietnam today to get matters sorted face-to-face. There are definite advantages to living close to the national capital, this happens to be one of them.

Other than that and the usual uke practice, where I have seemingly plateaued at least momentarily, I've got nothing planned for the day.

stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them.

good morning all. thank you Ray for the coffee. 49F on the dog walk with some light clouds and a few stars to see.
I have gym today so that kills the morning. the afternoon high should see 81F . that will make for a nice afternoon. enjoy the day

stay safe

Good morning, everyone. Thanks for the coffee to start the day, Ray.

It’s a cloudy 34, with the high to reach 44. Can’t complain. Anyone noticed the days getting longer? Nah, me either.

I think I’ll declutter a bit more today and make a delivery to the dump. Might even make the trip to the auto parts store to drop off about 10 gallons of used oil and pick up some SeaFoam and MMO.

Latest weather warning, apparently we need to "wear grippy shoes and stay inside when it's dark."
As I live above "15cm" I'll take notice, I'm off to the pub now.
The warning covering the north says that 40cm of snow is expected on higher ground and areas above 15cm will see 15-50cm of snow.
I blame the metric system.

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee start, Ray.

It's partly sunny and 30, rising to 35, later

Yesterday's activities involved the gym, and a couple trips to Home Depot for door latches. We found something close to what we were looking for, and they'll be installed after the final paint, next week.

I got to speak with the builder as I arrived this morning, and he says that they'll be done by the end of next week. We went over a few things that we'd mentioned, but he forgot, and he'll take care of it. He said again, that we could begin moving things into the kitchen. Brenda wants to wait, though, so we'll wait.

Today, I'll go for a haircut, hit the gym, and maybe a walk.

Enjoy the day,
Steve

Good boy, do as you're told.
It's the only way. I've got that t shirt.

Thanks for the coffee again Ray, keep it coming. 30 outside but warmer than that inside. No rain inside or out and that's a good thing.

Today is just work, last night - or maybe the night before - I replaced a light fixture over the stairs. She leaves lights on all over the house all the time, I swear from the backyard at night i see a light in every window, but no one can be everywhere at once. I sound like my dad. Ugh.

I could easily lie down and sleep annihilation three hours, but that's her job as a retiree. I guess, then, I'd lose my job as a retiree, because I always have something to do. Sleeping is good, but not all the time, y'know? I mean, none of us is gonna be around forever.

Gonna be cold this weekend, and rain moves in next week. Good thing there's not much needs doing outside, other than walks with Kaiser. I just dress up like I was going skiing, which i haven't done in a very long time.

Ah well, another refill of bean juice, and we shall trundle off to the last working day of the first week of the year.

Good morning all and thanks for the dark roast Ray. Late arrival for me is the coffee still hot? Been up and doing things just got to checking in. Frost on the cars here in Ocala but warming up to near 60 this afternoon. No more to report from here, yep pretty boring. Me or the location or both?

Have a great day everyone. Remember to be safe out there. That may include wearing your grippies!

Morning all! Still dark here, it's 5C and that's apparently all we are going to get temperature wise for the day. Rain is predicted for all day. How predictable.....

I'll do a little bit of work work today and then putter around getting my home office sorted. I'm currently barricaded in it with two too hungry dogs who cannot understand why breakfast is delayed. Our daughter's boyfriend is set up in the kitchen doing a remote job interview so my task is to keep the rapacious hunds sequestered for the duration. It's only for half an hour so not a big deal really....unless of course you're a dog waiting for breakfast I guess.....

Hope everyone has a great day and remember to seas the day! (Or a caesar....your choice but avoid a seizure.....)

...... the trees must come down
You must be psychic. As I write this there is an army of at least five tree fellers cutting multiple large trees in the neighbours backyard.

This neighbour has a couple of swings suspended from a huge maple tree that he put up for the amusement of his grandchildren. I think that every one of the tree fellers took a turn on the swings. Quite the site to see grown man wearing safety-orange chainsaw helmets, chainsaw chaps, climbing harnesses, etc, swinging away like children.
