It's the 10th already, pffffffftttttt. Let's have some Italian Dark Roast on this lovely Friday.
I say lovely, the sun is now shining and I have a strong coffee in my hand. That can't be bad.
I'm guessing with the weather Stateside and Canada and the usual crappiness going around it won't be lovely for all.
It was snowing about 3 hours ago so I volunteered to drive Er'Indoors to Jumpy Up and Down Class at Berwick-upon-the-Tweed. It was 28 then and 32 now. My feet are cold, I need a foot fetishist to suck my toes.
Pffffffftttttt.
Once the coffee is consumed I have a leg of lamb to prepare for this evening and some spiced red cabbage to make; that'll be for the freezer.
Av a gud un and remember, don't trust politicians.

Well, let's start the day off with a pot, shall we?

Let's see... hmmm.. French Roast? Yes, that'll do nicely won't it?

As that perks away, let's dispose of the weather: 1 headed to 3, cloudy all day, yesterday's snow ceased after a couple of inches... There, done.

If only the coffee was that quick, no?

Good things come to those that wait though. Or that's what someone said who was slow, or running late.

Hope you're all running on time, and on all cylinders this morning. If you're not, I've got a mug with your name on it that'll help fix you right up.

Enjoy!

Obo.

good morning all. thank you Ray for the coffee. 35F on the dog walk with a bright moon, a ton of stars and not one cloud in the sky. today is gym day this morning so I know what my morning will be. now I will just have to wait to see what my afternoon will be. well I do know the high for today will be 55F. enjoy the day

stay safe

Mornin” y’all. Thanks, Ray.

It’s started. Windshields of the cars are covered and it’s 31 degrees. Forecast is now 5-8”. But, snow is a lot like sex. You don’t know how deep, or how long it’s gonna last, til it’s over.

Looks like @Sadlsor is getting a couple of inches, but he gets the bonus of 1/4” of ice on top. I don’t miss living in Alabama. It’s always ice storms.

Fanks Ray and Obo!

-5˚c/23f, sunny, calm, feels like Quebec.

Been shopping, shrimps….and a nice pinot grigio from Sicilia.
Now to start cleaning, then picking up Mrs Stu from work.
Roads are very icy, a solid 7 on the wooleric pffffft!-scale.

Have a good one!
Stu

Good morning, all, and thanks for the Italian and French brews, Ray and Obo. Decisions, decisions... oh sod it, I'll have a mugful of each.

Mainly sunny is the order of the day, with temps ranging from -10°C/14°F (feels like -18°C/0°F) to -5°C/23°F (will feel like -12°C/10°F). More white stuff coming tomorrow, but I don't think it will be a lot. Still more coming after that, but not until early next week. It is inevitable...we are in the dead of the Canadian winter, after all; it's going to snow. Might as well enjoy how pretty it looks when you don't have to drive in (or shovel) it.

Looks like there's some pretty nasty weather hitting the southeastern U.S. Batten down the hatches, folks. :(

Everyone have a great day, stay safe and go safely.

Patty

20°F/-7°C here when the dog's bladder woke me up over an hr ago. Another nice, warm WFH day for me in SoMD as another little snowmaker rolls through tonight. The wife and I debated how the universe and life evolved at this ridic hour, and it was fortunate I had some coffee handy, thank you! Not much else to report...my head hurts already.

Take care y'all!

It's a race to the coffee pot, and Ray won!
Thanks, guys. Coffee is always appreciated.

It's 22 and sunny in MA this morning, rising to 37 with more wind predicted.

I was sitting here, yesterday, fat, dumb and happy, when my phone alarm went off.
I had an eye appointment in Worcester in 10 minutes! I haven't moved that fast in a while!
I made it to the appointment, but a bit late.
All is good with the eyes, and my next appointment will be a year from now.

Afterward, I geared up, and went skiing for about 2.5 hours at our local ski area. It was nice to be back on skis, and it didn't feel cold or windy, until I was walking back to the truck.

On the reno front, the microwave is installed over the stove, the shower door is installed, and things are being wiped down and vacuumed.
They found that the lower track of the slider is warped, and that will be replaced, maybe today.

Today, I'll head over to the gym, once our cat moves off of my lap.
It'll warm enough for a walk, and our neighbor's dog hasn't been out for a week so...

Enjoy the day,
Steve

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the multi-national start Ray and Obo.

Good morning, all, and thanks for the Italian and French brews, Ray and Obo. Decisions, decisions... oh sod it, I'll have a mugful of each.

If you put French roast and Italian dark roast in the same mug at the same time, I wonder whether they'd naturally separate and erect an alpine-style barrier between them? Then try to drown out each other's national anthems in a miniature battle of bands? Would favoring one side of the cup over the other create an international incident? Sanctions and sharply-worded diplomatic exchanges could ensue. No, no, the obvious course is to keep them firmly separated and unaware of the existence of their rival.

It's 20°F and mostly sunny in Rockville and the wind gauge reads nearly calm, making a decidedly welcome change from yesterday's frigid bluster. Still, it seems there's enough breeze to make it feel like only 6°F so I guess I'll leave the board shorts and hula shirts put away and continue on with multiple layers of long-sleeved, insulated, bulky, winter clothing. At least the cold isn't actively seeping into the house as it was yesterday, or at least not as rapidly.

Yesterday I joined my uke-playing friend, along with a dozen or so others, at a local music store where there's a weekly uke jam. Mostly I listened and sang along, as I'm not yet able to keep up with reading the music and playing the chords (it still takes conscious thought to form many of them, and the changes between them have yet to become automatic, deeply-ingrained habit in the way that's needed to play at tempo and in a group). It was still fun, though, and I came away with two large volumes of music specifically adapted for the uke.

I'll see the dermatologist this afternoon, and he'll freeze some small red patch off my forehead. It's been there for agers but my primary care doc finally decided last autumn that she didn't like the look of it so now I have another specialist added to my retinue of health care providers.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them.

Morning all! I'm still in the dark here, literally and figuratively. It's 7C with a predicted high of 9C and rain followed later by sun.

I received a call yesterday that the ST is ready to go after a multitude of things needed rectification including new rubber. Just in time for the extra rainy season. I'll wander on over and pick it up later and try to restrain myself from taking a multi hour test ride of said new rubber. Test of the inner restraint system you might say. Fail to plan, plan to fail......I think I'll just cut straight to plan to fail.

I woke up somewhat crippled by sore and tight muscles, no doubt due to yesterday's madness. However, half an hour of stretches, rolling and use of the massage gun helped to smarten things up. Amazingly, the PT was correct that stretching helps. Huh. Like they went to school for this stuff or something. And actually paid attention in class. Wonder what that's like?

Hope everyone has a great day and keep your toe jobs to yourself thanks!

Good morning all. Thanks for the coffee Ray. I'll grab a cup to take with me. Met a really cool guy owns a 1 man Ducati shop and promised I'd be by with coffee this morning. He's old school bike mechanic, rare in the wilds of Florida, I suppose rare everywhere these days. Strange when the "old" mechanics are the same age as me. In the horse world we used to say no one under the age of 50 deserved the title Horseman. You can't possibly have the experience for the title before then. I started with the horses at age 16 and you know looking back by 50 I was just starting to get it. Motorcycles are a little easier but it still takes a lot of years to get the real knowledge.

Have a great one all and remember, be safe out there.
