Hmmmmm. Blummin Friday innit. I need some good company to enjoy a cup of coffee with. But I spose I've just got you wasters, fancy popping in for a Dark Italian Roast?
It's an OK morning here after the overnight wind and rain, should be a cool uneventful weather day followed this evening by storm some'at or t'other......Dangler? It's gonna get wild, or so they say.
We may go and kill a tree this aft, it's about that time. The forestry won't miss one.
Er'Indoors is already away to Berwick-upon-the-Tweed for er physically punishment and I've got a couple of things to keep me busy. On that note it looks like it's sun up here. Time to crack on.
Av a gud un and remember, danish oil can dry real shiny.
Upt.
Sunrise 8:20 am
Sunset 3:38 pm.
Pffffffftttttt.

Thx Ray, I’m but a poor nutter but I’d really love a cup or three….

Not a usual Friday routine….babysitting Peter this evening, thus driving, not drinking of coarse…only Pepsi.
It will be nice though.

7˚c/45f, calm, overcast, gloomy.

Cleaning, buying shrimps (for tomorrow..), practising piano for a consert upcoming Sunday.

Never heard of danish oil…education needed.

Have a good one!
Stu

@Obo Hope your mom is better!

To anyone who needs a cheerup or a laugh…….give it a few seconds….

G'Day...

2°C, strong winds, just started to rain, ghastly... WX gives out a "sleet warning"... now even dubbed with an "ice warning"... of course... pfffff...

As my tasty morning Nespresso Cappricio has already passed the kidneys, I'm wetting my pursed lips with the obligatory boiling hot 3in1 instant here at the workplace to reload... :coffee:

While scrolling through the news-feed I stumble about some bad news for us coffee-lovers: prices might surge 70%... dafuq?! <hot coffee through nose onto keyboard>

"...damn stock exchange speculators!..." was my first reaction, but no!
The reasons given are fallout from COVID (they're still milking that?!) and climate panic(TM)... of course  ... pfffff...
Sure, me paying more for coffee will instantly lower/remove Chinese CO² emissions... yeah... right...
Anyway, stock up on your favorite brew my friends...

Last night my GF dragged me through our Costco sized Metro market... me pushing a cart around for 2 hours... pfffff...
And that gal is like a 3 year old in a candy store, don't pay attention for even one second and she's gone...
But OTOH did she gift me with some industrial quality stacking boxes for the bike shed... yep, received my present already...

cheers!

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the IDR, Ray. Waifs and strays, wasters and whatnots... it's all the same to me.

It's a chilly 26°F and (mostly) clear in Rockville, a fact I've personally verified. Jupiter and Mars are easily visible but Uranus isn't (DON'T go there, anyone) because it's too dim to show against the backdrop of emitted light from the surrounding metro area where I live. But I believe my astronomy app when it tells me the planet's lurking out there in the void somewhere.

Yesterday's wind has finally abated but there's still enough of it still around to produce a feels-like of just 7°F; the actual temperature will rise to only 33- not even warm enough to consider styling it as "tepid". And the wind will pick up again later in the day- not to the force it had yesterday but enough to keep the apparent temperature ten degrees or more below the actual. Brrrrrr.

Now that the Windows weather app has been reverted to its previous form, I find that I miss the extra info that it displayed, specifically the feels-like curve and the ability to mouse over a given time and see the predicted conditions in an overlay box. That information can still be had, but it's more work to get to it.

So, enough moaning about the winter weather. I'm glad we've gotten no snow or ice, that's a mercy at least.

What's on tap for today? Apart from ukulele practice and a session on the spin bike, I dunno. At some point Mrs. Fun will probably thrash me at dominos, as she does more often than otherwise, but I've nothing else scheduled:

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them.

good morning all. as always, thanks for the coffee Ray. 52F on the dog walk with clouds and some stars to tag along as we walked and took in the Christmas light displays. when I'm done here I'm going on line to find L.E.D bulbs for my Mag-Lite flashlights. I tried aftermarket ones with only one working out of the 5 I got. so this time I will pay for Mag-Lite kits.

its off to the gym for exercise and movement training this morning. after I get home and have lunch I believe I will start to decorate the inside of the house with that Christmas stuff. wife has a few more cookies to make so I'll hang around to see if I get any scraps. the high should hit 69F, with a slight wind of 8 mph. enjoy the day

stay safe

I'm just a poor boy though my story's seldom told.........but I'll slurp up some dark Italian with ya me duck!

the weather 'round heeya is making' a turn for the better. In the 40's tomorrow and Sunday.

It's been fun watching the snow fall since I'm stocked up for the duration.

Y'all have a great day!

hugs

Morning all, and thanks for the coffee, Ray.

-2C headed to -10C. Downhill slide. Mostly cloudy all day.

It snow decently overnight, covering the clearings I made last night with the snowblower. I wasn't expecting it, so didn't allow any time this morning to clear the yard again. Just drove thru it, and plowed thru the end of the driveway where the plow had a snow dam from all the stuff from the road. I'll deal with it this evening when I get home I guess.

I heard Germany is telling folks to stock up on sausages and cheese. Technically, this is a real Wurst Käse scenario.

Hope everyone has an excellent day!

Obo.

Good morning, everyone. Thanks for the start this morning, Ray.

It’s still Brrrrr…..Pffftt. Only 16F, here on the ridge this morning. Teddy says it’s clear out. I’ll have to trust his judgement since I ain’t stepping out to look. Nope, no way. Maybe, around noonish, when it hits the upper 30’s, I’ll venture out.

It’s funny, our perception of cold. Yesterday afternoon, I was shivering and shaking, standing in the yard feeding the birds, thinking I’m about to get frostbite. Really, who stands outside, feeding birds at 25F? About that time, a bike goes roaring down the road and I’m thinking, “What a great day to go for a ride in the fresh air. Where’s my helmet?”

Good morning, all, and thanks for the elixir, Ray.

We have a sunny morning here and we'll see a mix of sun and clouds for the rest of the day. It's pretty chilly here as well: we're currently about a degree below the day's high of -6°C/21°F with a feels-like of -14°C/7°F. I, for one, am glad it's Friday - it's been a tough couple of weeks. We have our annual Communications team meeting and forum at Head Office and the Canadian War Museum on Monday and Tuesday, so I'll be making my way to Ottawa on Sunday. I'm not looking forward to the meeting, but the forum should be interesting and the War Museum is always great. It'll also be nice to see my middle sister, who will be recovering from having a stent put in today to fix a blocked artery. Sigh. It's always something. This will also be the only time I get to see her before the new year, as she'll be travelling to Toronto to spend the Holidays with her daughter, son-in-law and new granddaughter, and I'll be jetting off to Florida on Christmas Day.

@Obo: I hope your mum's doing OK!
@SupraSabre: That's very sad news about Dana. RIP. :(

Everyone have a great day, stay safe and go safely.

Patty

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee start, Ray.

It's 25, going to 27 this morning, with wind on the way as well. I guess Keith's windy weather had to go somewhere!

Yesterday's haircut and gym went off okay, and I stopped by the local Sunoco station and had my truck inspected on the way home.
Once home, I took the snowblower and cleared the driveway and walk.
We got a little over 4" of wet snow.

Today's plan is a gym visit, and some Christmas shopping, once Brenda gets here.

Enjoy the day,
Steve

Happy Friday morning all......

Up way too early today, must have gotten all the sleep I need.
Dark and frozen outside. Lots of black ice everywhere. Yesterday we had a bad wreck on I90 just west of Spokane. Fuel tanker truck crashed and burned and closed the hwy for hours.

Yesterday was a trip to the big city for supplies and such........and a nice lunch. We were going to go see a movie...but shopping took too long. Do it later to keep the spousal unit happy.

No new snow on the hill, but the weather has stayed cold for man made snow. Yay.
My view this morning....

Go have a super Saturday eve.....

Morning Ray & All from sunny w/haze, Southern Utah!

Currently it is 32F, up from 21F and heading for 48F (pretty much what yesterday was). No breeze and we never saw much of one yesterday, so we'll see what today brings.

I spent the day (after it warmed up a little) working on the tractor shed electrical. Telling myself it will be fine, so I don't tear it all out and start over! :well1: But it will do for this Winter, and maybe I'll rethink it next Spring. I'm hoping to have it hooked up today! :pray1:

Eggs, bacon, Home Made English Muffin & OJ to start the morning. Pepsi(s) to come later.

Anyone :dr13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:

Well if you got it wrong, at least the tractor will be nice and warm for a few minutes...
