G'Day...

8°/18°C today, mostly sunny, still gusty winds, semis and panel vans dancing and swerving on the m/way...
But similar, mild temperature outlook for the entire weekend... seems spring is dawning now...

Slow day at the office for a change, seems many have already left for the Easter Holidays, I still expect quite some traffic in the afternoon though...

Media has leveled out, but @STooRay as a local might have more exclusive insight about the report that a written consent form from your spouse for pretty much all and everything is now a mandatory requirement up there...
I do wonder if that also applies to foreigner/tourists... having the campground cabin surrounded by a SWAT team wearing fur hats and their CO yelling "tillatelse?! tillatelse?!" on his megaphone for bunking there with your GF might be a downer during the next trip up north...

anyhoo...

have a nice w/e!

Thx Martin and Dave!

Martin, I have absolute no idea what you’re talking about…?
Generally speaking, I’m rather ignorant, so it’s probably me.
Right now I don’t have the time to find out.

A seven hour drive took me to Oslo yesterday, then we shopped around for 800kgs of tiles, and then alot of glue and stuff, and new shower doors.
A long day.

Today will be removing the old shower, and prepping walls and floor for new tiles.

A beautiful day, 18˚c/64f, sunny and calm.
Hate to waste it inside…

Have a super Friday!
Stu

good morning all. thanks for the coffee Martin. 63F on the dog walk with a big bright moon to light the way and a clear sky with some stars to go along made for a nice walk. with a high of 97F this afternoon it looks like we will skip spring and go right into summer.
the only thing I have today is gym time this morning then we will see what's next. enjoy the day

stay safe

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the coffee, Martin.

It's a dampish 45°F in Rockville, where the weather forecast says:
1744368811853.png

That sums it up, doesn't it?

Lunch with an old friend today is my entire agenda. I never picked up a ukulele yesterday, so perhaps an extended practice session today is also in order.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, because tomorrow may be too late.

Good morning, everyone. Thanks for the coffee, Martin.

A little cooler today. 47/58 with afternoon drizzle. Time for inside household chores today.

While straightening up the garage yesterday, I found an item that been misplaced for a while. It fired right up, so Teddy and I took a ride for about an hour and a half. I’m not sure who enjoyed it more.

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee, Martin.

It's cloudy and 33 in MA this morning, although there's snow on the deck and lawn.
We'll see cloudy conditions, with snow or rain showers this morning, as the temperature rises to 50

I picked up the Wing, yesterday, after some angst about where my registration was. I found it in the glove compartment, where I put it before storing the bike last November. So I went right back into the shop and had it inspected, while I searched the sales area for my next 5 bikes...

Brenda and I did some shopping, and after some discussion, went to dinner at our favorite Mexican place.

Today, I'll visit the gym, and ???

Enjoy the day,
Steve

Good morning, all, and thanks for the coffee, Martin.

It's going to be a grey, gloomy, mostly wet day here. We have a current temp of 3°C/37°F, which will rise to 8°C/46°F. It's raining lightly at the moment, and that will continue, off and on, until about 7 p.m. Warmer temps are in store for tomorrow and Sunday, we're told.

Welp, I should get my act in gear, though I'm really not feeling it today. Must be the weather. It's all good, though!
Everyone have a great day, stay safe and go safely.

Patty

Yay! End of the working week!
Thanks for the coffee, Martin. Maybe you can teach me how to cuss in Austrian, when i retire. Never mind, y'all speak Deutsch, don't you? Still remember some of that.
Rained last night, but i forgot, and left the trailer uncovered and the lid up. Dangit, have to take the car while the carpet dries... I hate it when I do that.
And while I was still on my first cup of coffee ☕️, I thought, "No biggie. I'll just take the GSA."
Idiot.
Two bikes, but still just the one trailer.
Who says coffee is not required?
Pfffttt.
More stuff going on this weekend, but it's not like I remember what or where any of it is.
Everything around here is on full-tilt Spring, and no more trees bared by winter, it's all green or some shade of flower colors. Still cool in the mornings, so it will have to get warmer before it's perfect.
Perfection is an elusive quality, innit?
Like my ST1300 could have been perfect, but there's no factory cruise control.
Still, many times, good enough really is good enough.
I hope your Friday and your weekend is at least... good enough.

Morning all! The sun is just starting to peek above the horizon but it looks like it will be a sunny day. It's 6C right now and they say it will get up to 10C.

Working from home again today as my wife has physio this afternoon and requires a chauffeur. Other than that, not too much exciting on the books for the day. Maybe a nap.....definitely a nap. And a dog walk. It's a relentless and cruel pace....

Hope everyone has a great day!

Morning Martin & All from a sunny morning in Southern Utah!

Currently it is 46F, heading for 81F. No breeze right now, but later the winds will pick up from the SW @21 to 36mph. Looks like Spring has sprung here. 60F, 70Fs & 80Fs are in the future forecasts! But, we could still have a freeze over a night or two.

Chris and I made it back last night from SoCal. Another 400 mile drive. To break up the normal drive I took a different route.

Our taxes were done while we were gone, so now we need to sign them and then email it to my tax guy.

On the agenda, besides unpack and such, will be to turn on the irrigation water, so we can start watering the lawn and plants. Ah yes, Spring has Sprung, time to get back on the yard, as well of a bike I still have sitting, waiting to be put back together.

No food/drink yet, Got to wait for Chris to wake up. The first time since March 14th, that she's been able to sleep in her own bed!

Anyone :bl13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:

A cold wet day in SoMD, but I get to WFH so at least I don't have to trudge through the dreariness to start work...I can just trudge through my dreary house. Thanks for the joe, Martin. I've many things on my mind and on the to-do list, too much to even think about to list. Let's just say I'm sufficiently busy up until my death, and likely after too.

Was chosen to play the father, Jack, in Brighton Beach Memoirs. I think I was the only adult that auditioned that fit the role, I. E., old and male. Well, there goes half my summer...

Time to get back to the online grind before I can log off for the wknd. Take care y'all!

Good Morning, thanks Martin for coffee and Dave for Funnies,it is a Sunny day with scattered clouds gentle breeze of 4 mph Gusts to 8 miles per hour. Spent some time on Amazon looking at camping dishes for the bike, and a small burner stove and from yesterday's thread helmet locks , the hard part will be making up my mind on which ones to get. That and I have to wait till my pension payments come in to the bank account, and I get back on the bike. Still a bit of doubt about my physical health,am I Fit to Ride. Today's agenda, check on the glue from yesterday, started getting the floor pieces prepared for the the vacation trailer, which means glueing in the hole saw bits into the square chunks. May also have to go grocery shopping, and a Home Depot visit as well and last but not least mow grass around the Airport.
Forgot 48 F high 54 F . Cheers and Y'all have a wonderful day,G

Patty, no update included in your post RE: your injury or work??

Nothing much to report, Brian. The injury is finally starting to heal, but the process is extremely slow - it'll be at least a couple of weeks yet before the big bandages can even come off (and be replaced by smaller ones), and it'll be another month or more before it's fully healed. It's still agonizingly painful, due to the severely damaged nerve endings, but I'm patient and resilient (albeit a little exhausted at this point). I've purchased a cane to help keep some weight off the foot when I need to get around for short distances; seems to help a little. But the urge to poke people or hit them over the head with it is almost overwhelming. Lol!

As for work, yesterday's interview went fine, as far as I can tell, but I won't hear anything until next week, as they still have several candidates to interview. I'm not excited about it; I have no desire to work a demanding 40-hour week at this point in my life, and for less money than I was making before. And the job itself sounds like a carbon copy of what I just left. Those 2 things are kind of deal breakers for me, really, so I'm sort of hoping they tell me another candidate beat me out so that I don't have to feel guilty about saying "thanks, but no thanks!" It's nice to know that large, international corporations still value my skills and want to talk to me, though!

Working the same job for less sounds like misery. The way I see it, their salary range is mere suggestion. The real negotiation starts after they give you an offer. Never sell yourself short, so hit them with what you're worth plus more. If they don't back down or compromise, then you walk away head held high. If they accept, then you did it on your terms. Most important, make it worth your while. Lots of ways to make a crummy job less crummy besides good pay. Shorter work weeks, RDO, more PTO, remote work. etc. I agree, a job at this point in time has to be enjoyable or it's not worth wasting your time on at all...or at least let you do what you WANT to do. Take care...I know you'll do the right thing for YOU.
