Firing Order and Sequence

In a full sequence of two rotations of the crankshaft, at what point of the rotations do each of the cylinders fire? Are they timed to fire at evenly spaced intervals or is the sequence more complex than that?

I'm just curious, and am not trying to put something back together that I "accidentally" pulled apart. :p:

Starting at cylinder #1
1 fires 90 degrees later 4 fires 270 degrees later 3 fires 90 degrees later 2 fires 270 degrees later 1 fires so on and so forth.

#1 -90- #4 -270- #3 -90 - #2 - 270 - #1 - 90 - #4 - 270 - #3 - 90 - #2

Start of 1st rotation 1 then 4 fire, start of second rotation 3 then 2

Bang bang pause bang bang pause

The firing order is 1 4 3 2 if you changed the right side cam 180 degrees it would change the firing order to 1 2 3 4 it would run but no advantage.

Bang bang pause bang bang pause

No, it is large noise large noise please to rest large noise large noise please to rest

Remember the old Honda owners manuals choice of words? Sorry for the hijack.

I've had another think about this. That would mean that one cylinder fires every 180 degrees. That is at 90 and 270 on the first rotation and then at 90 and 270 on the second rotation, there being a cylinder firing every half turn of the crank for the full two turns. Thus the sequence would be even and not "bang, bang, pause, bang, bang" but "bang, bang, bang, bang". Have I confused myself?

Draw a circle then the letter V but make it a 90 degree V put the point of the V in the center of the circle. Trace the circle with your finger counter-clockwise and say bang or large noise when your finger hits a line in the V.

Cylinders (4 and 3) and (2 and 1) fire 270 apart not 180 Draw an X through the circle.

Oh man am I getting dizzy trying to visualize this. How are the cylinders numbered? Which ones are on the right, the left, the front, the rear? I'm going to vomit.
