Hi everyone, just joined the forum and thought I'd introduce myself.

I've just bought a red ST1300A—it's been a dream bike for years, and now that the kids have grown up, it's finally my time. I needed the freedom of the open road, and my wife (while giving her blessing) won’t be joining me as a pillion.

First ride, I thought, "Wow, this is a bit of a lump!" But by the second ride, it started to feel a lot more natural. I plan to ride the wheels off this thing!

Years ago (about 40, to be exact), I did some European touring, and now it’s all coming back to me. If anyone has recommendations for great rides in Europe, I'd love to hear them!

Looking forward to being part of the community.

Welcome to the ST Family! I am on my second ST1300. First one was a 2008 (red) and my current ST1300 is a 2017 ST1300PA. MY ‘08 when I sold it had 230,000 miles on it. What a great bike they are. Every time I ride it I enjoy the beaST. What year is yours and where are you located? I am located in Indiana, USA.

Welcome to the forum. Anywhere in the Dolomites is a great place to ride. Also the Alps are covered with great motorcycle roads. Enjoy

Welcome!
After Alps the next are the Pyrenees mountains. Col D'Aspin - Col du Tourmalet - Col du Soulor - Col d'Abisque in this order or backwards is a must, among other roads in Spain (N 260) or in France.
In a perfect trip I'd start in San Sebastion (culinary capital after Lyon) and end in Perpignan (or v/s).

we're still graced with a few experts on the two STs and while I'm glad you're enjoying your newly aquainted ride, bear in mind that these are very old bikes, and these are heavy bikes; in other words, when you hit a dip it can go really aweful, anyway, FAT, wish you all the best.

Talking about a dip, it remined me of few years ago riding from work, I hit a real deep hole in the road. I was on the zebra in the middle of the crossroads. I bottom-down front suspensions and I was almost thrown over the windscreen. Suddenly the bike pulled up and I was back in the saddle. I couldn't believe it as I already prepared for flying over. Had to stop to catch my breath.
