Just when stepping out the little (loaner) Toyota at the office a duck flew over, loudly voicing its morning misery into the world... hence the title ;)

I guess expressing my adventures, impressions and opinions are getting taxed now?

6°/16°C today, sunny, not a cloud in sight, hence even 19°C could be possible...
April, a different season every day...

For odd reasons I woke at about 0500hrs (actually 0400hrs)... must have been the upstairs neighbor rummaging or such... :cautious:
From 0600hrs on it took me about 20 min to get my GF out of bed... lots of moaning, grunting and complaining... ;)

The good news: gonna pick up my trusty '96 Toyota estate today
Boss/owner of the shop called proudly last evening that all went smooth, MOT passed, summer tires/wheels mounted, etc...

alright, gotta work...

cheers!

Well, hey, Martin, good morning. Too early for my coffee here, at just after 1am. But thanks for the coffer. I mean coffee.
No, i mean offer. Coffee offer.
I'll make some more, after a while.
To the best of my knowledge, besides paying my ISP fee and federal and local communication taxes, I'm not exactly "taxed" for my impressions and opinions... but i am aware it can be taxing to others, to have to read or hear them.
And just to play the contrarian, how do you know the duck was actually miserable? Maybe it was just calling out for friends.
"Come fly with me..."

Thx Martin!
Never underestimate the power of ducks! (The Wooler type at least..).
Glad your workhorse wasn’t put down!

10˚c/50, sunny, calm.

Getting a hair cut.
Remove old bricks and dirt by wheel barrow.
Cook dinner.
Pick up Peter.
Pick up Mrs Stu.
Replace motorcycle battery.

Have a good one!
Stu

From driving Mrs Stu to work this morning.

(you do know the joke about Italian bricklayers? )

The flying roast was just a regular, female Mallard... best served with red cabbage and dumplings...
But handling a good ol' Holland&Holland (12 gauge) in public is frowned upon, heavily... plus I neither own a retriever nor a Tweed-jacket... ;)

There is an artificial water-body in this industrial estate, likely a reservoir for the firefighters, which those pterosaurs like to populate...

Dang! Cup is empty again... mulling over a refill... :coffee:

cheers!

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the coffee Martin. I'll have a cup or four.

For odd reasons I woke at about 0500hrs (actually 0400hrs)

Having gone to bed at around 2000 hours yesterday evening I awoke at 0230, again at 0310, and once more at 0345. After the third time I took the message and got up to begin my day.

It's presently 55°F and cloudy in Rockville, with a very light mist falling- not enough to see, but enough that I felt it as I wheeled the bins to the curb for emptying by the City later today. That confirms the forecast of "Scattered light rain showers"; I don't doubt the high will be around the forecast value of 78. Yesterday we topped out in the mid 50s and we'll return to that range on Monday; if the prognosticators are even close to right we won't even get to 50 on Tuesday and Wednesday, but that's too far into the future to have a lot of credibility at the moment.

Goof is on the plan for today, assuming the weather cooperates. Other than that and uke practice I've got nothing until my regular Thursday online bridge game with relatives at 1900 hours.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, because tomorrow may be too late.

Good morning, all. Thanks, Martin.

No internet, so I’m using my phone. Been under tornado warning all night, but so far there hasn’t even been rain. Tornados in Nashville. The local weather guessers have been live, on air, for over 12 hours straight.

Looks like I’ll get my share in about an hour!

John

Thank you Martin. Wow, lots of folks up early today. It's partly cloudy and 49°, going to remain cloudy and may see 61°. Womantriker had her surgery bumped up to 1100, so when she came out of recovery, it was 1500 and the nerve block in her toes was still doing its thing, so her PT session didn't happen, hence she's been kept overnight. The knee replacement was successful, so she'll have her PT sessions this morning and be home by 1300 today. Ciao.

Argh! Coffee ... I need coffee... ahhhhh ... there it is.

If you look at the weather map previously posted, way up there in the upper right , sorta between-ish Concord and Montpelier, there is a thunderstorm hammering on my roof! Accompanying said flashing, crashing and rumbling is the tinkle of sleet on the metal roof. It is definitely detracting from slumber.

It is currently 31F on the back porch with a forecast of 49F and the rain/sleet mix giving way to clouds by this afternoon. There is a thin cover of fresh snow in the driveway. Tomorrow (Friday) is forecast to be decent with buckets of rain expected Saturday and Sunday. Maybe I'll pull the truck out of the overhang and leave it in the driveway for it's first official car wash of the year!

Today has limited plans, maybe I'll give up procrastinating and do my taxes, maybe not .... I still have a few days!

Be safe, be careful and give hugs as needed.

Scott

good morning all. thanks for the coffee Martin. 44F on the dog walk with some of this and some of that for clouds, clear sky and stars to look at and enjoy. started our walk at 0130 and finished at 0230. funny our young male dog kept checking our 6 every few feet for most of his walk. our old girl only checks your pocket for cookies. that's OK at 14 years old she gets a lot of slack.
nothing on the list of things to do so we will see how the day goes. the high should hit 61F with clouds moving in around 10 am for most of the day. enjoy the day

stay safe

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee start, Martin.

It's cloudy and 39, rising to 62 with rain predicted for today.

Yesterday's visit to the VA dr went okay.
Blood work, RSV shot, and an EKG were in order.
The EKG was because I mentioned that my home BP kit detected some irregular beats at a couple of measurements. Better safe than sorry, I guess.
BP was still a bit high, so they've adjusted my meds, and I'll keep track of that for a month.

My knees still ache after the gym the other day, so I stayed away from that, electing to walk with our neighbor's dog for a little over 3 miles.

Today, I'll head over to my friend's restaurant to open the door for a new washing machine delivery.
Gym, afterward.

Enjoy the day,
Steve

I'm late and will make another pot-O-brew!

The rain has passed from overnight, wow, it really came down! No hail like they predicted though.

Still not dry enough to trust the Wing outside.

I'm trying all the great recipes I'm watching on YouTube and 2 loaves of sourdough are in the oven.

Y'all have a great day!

hugs

Dave

Good morning, all, and thanks for the coffee, Martin.

The big swath of storm that is plaguing John's area with tornado warnings and dumping sleet on Scott's roof is giving us a good drenching. No hail/sleet, though, as temps are mild today; it's already 4°C/39°F and we'll see a high of 17°C/63°F. Warmest day of spring so far, too bad there's no sunshine to go with it. The rain should stop at around 4 pm and we should have a relatively nice day tomorrow, before the rain comes pouring down again on Saturday and Sunday. Ah, spring.

Welp, I'm off to a slowish start this morning, so I'd better get quacking. Everyone have a great day, stay safe and go safely.

Patty

Late to bed, late to rise. Poor Snooze alarm...

Well never mind that, the fresh Black Rifle is 1/3 gone.

Went out to cut the front yard after work yesterday, and it was still light, so I rode over the back yard too. Love this time of year! But had to finish with the John Deere headlights on, never did that before.

I've been watching Chickanic (rhymes with mechanic, she's blonde) on YouTube, and she does a great job of distilling small engine repair down to the stupid- simple, and after a week I feel more confident in fixing my mowers and chainsaw and such. Maybe even a little side hustle, ... in my dreams. All the mower and small engine shops are looking at 2 - 4 week backlogs for repairs, but no surprise there. She really does make it look easy, though.

Record heat this week, 91 today, and i say bring it on!

Prayers up for Arkansas and the twister victims, and the 2 in Nashville that appear to have perished. Spring is great, but still, nasty weather can happen. We know all about tornadoes here in Bamaland.

Stay weather-aware, y'all.

Good morning all!
Thanks for the quacky start Martin.

Someone ordered more freezing rain for us!
It looks like we got about 3/8” give or take!
That’s is enough! Whoever ordered this, please quit that!

We got started removing what was left of our old dock yesterday.
We’ve got to order the cribbing material next!
I’m too old to cut all that cedar this time!

I think we’ll wait until I don’t need to dress so warm!
52/55 F, hopefully all that ice melted overnight!
Enjoy your day!

It was tough rolling out of bed this a.m., even though I first woke at 0530, I conked back out, slept thru two alarms, finally getting up at 0620. So it was a hurried effort to leave, of course not forgetting to feed the palace royalty before I did so. Got a half cup in me before parking, much appreciated, Martin.

61F/16C in a gloomy, muggy SoMD when I headed out the door. Today feels like it'll be slow with the weather. So just gotta get thru it. Got an interesting little project to work on the side for a few extra hours of pay...nice to be needed. Hope I can get home before the heavy rain hits but doubt the timing will work for me. Who knows what after that? Gotta go, take care y'all!

Glad to hear her surgery went well Mac.

Morning Martin & All from a WHITE, Southern Utah!

It's April, right?

Currently it is 33F, up from 29F and heading for 43F. Well, they delivered! We got about 4" of the wet, white stuff. The temps have been in the upper 20Fs and lower 30Fs, just enough to freeze over whatever dropped. Thank goodness it didn't stick to the walkways and driveway. So I don't have to go out and clear anything. Although, it's coming down again, but very lightly, as the stuff on the ground has been melting. We have a slight breeze now, and expect the winds to be stronger, coming from the N @ 9 to 15mph.

@motomac : Mac give Carole our best and we praying for her quick recovery!

I was able to get the waterpump installed yesterday. (details in my AZ Build Thread). Today, I think I'll start working on the engine. I'm thinking of starting with installing the alternator & Starter, and go from there. Yesterday, I also ordered more parts from PARTZILLA, and I already got an email saying that they are shipped! Great news.

Boiled eggs, croissant & a Pepsi, to start the morning.

Anyone :bl13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:

Morning all! It's overcast but there appears to be blue sky to the west so the sun promised by the Weather Network may actually materialize. It's 7C right now and the predicted high will be 12C.

Rode into work today but got going a little bit late which meant I got caught in ferry traffic so it was a bit of a plod downtown. Not much else exciting to report.

Hope everyone has a great day!
