They say money can't buy happiness...
But you can buy coffee, close enough in my book...

Another "Ducksday" you ask?
Yes, cause them flying roasts have now invaded ze GF's garden ;)

IMG_20250409_193614_888.jpg

They're quite friendly, closed in to like 3ft, but took off after realizing they won't get fed by her...

6°/12°C today, gray overcast and quite windy... no warning though, seems the media frizz is occupied with other stuff...
(like those red baseball caps turned out to be made in India, thus will now cost $ 75,- ;) )

Office, already had my Nescafé sludge (after the genuine Nespresso starter fluid back home)...

GF is at her place, carpenter fixing water damage on the entrance door, which was exposed to the elements prior installment of the canopy, and started to swell...
of course right after the house manufacturer's warranty expired...
Considered doing it our/myself (power tools en mass and applying a white, water resistant boat varnish with a foam roller would have restored the matte finish), but the fella quoted her only € 300,-...
Her house, her money, her decision...

Someone in the break room is grilling mini pizzas... the scent makes me hungry... :(

patience me friends, tomorrow is Friday... wohoo...

Good morning, should say good night, it's like 2:20 AM in the morning, bladder needed draining. Mind hamsters need feeding so cup of instant soup. Did manage to get yesterday's agenda done , two hours to cut the lawn, first time using airports new zero turn lawn mower, dang are the controls sensitive, can get you dizzy in no time. Well, soups almost all gone so back to bed, talk later and Y'all have a great day. G

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the coffee Martin. I know they're not yours, but feel free to snag me a couple of those mini-pizzas too, if you can.

It's 43°F and cloudy in Rockville with chances of rain at several points during the day, although the most likely time will be this evening. We'll have clouds all day (with the rain chances that makes sense, of course) and reach a high of about 54.

Other than the usual Thursday afternoon uke group session my calendar's clear for the day.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, because tomorrow may be too late.

Good morning, all, and thanks for the coffee and mini pizza. (shusshh...)

It's 24 and sunny in MA this morning, rising to 52, later. It'll become cloudy, and eventually rainy this evening.

Yesterday's track day was c-c-cold! The wind was biting, and I climbed into my ski pants and added a hoodie to stay warm after lunch.
The turn-out was light, and they stopped at 3-ish pm, instead of the scheduled 5pm stop.
We went out to a pub-style restaurant, and it turned out that we both had a hankering for burgers.

Today, we'll be out and about.
As we were walking into the restaurant, I was speaking with the dealer, who said the Wing's ready for pick-up, so that will happen.
We're running low on .22 ammo, so Cabela's is part of the tour, as is a trip to the local big-box store.
Now, if I could talk Brenda into buying a box of mini-pizzas...

Have a great day,
Steve

Mornin’ y’all. Thanks for the coffee, Martin.

A full 20 degrees warmer this morning. Starting at 52 and going to 72, with sun. Woo Hoo!

Had a great day yesterday. Harbor Freight, then took Teddy for a walk in a 100 acre park where he set the Guinness record for number of trees marked. Then came home and mowed a bit.

Tip of the Day: Reheat your pizza in a dry, cast iron skillet for a nice crisp crust. Beats the heck out of nuked sogginess.
(Unless it’s morning leftover pizza, which is always better at refrigerator temps.)

John

They're cremating* those micro pizzas (~2" diameter) in a grill oven like this...

*warehouse worker frequently forgets/overdoes it, turning them into smoldering briquettes... <cough cough> ;)

Howdy all, I'll pass on the micro'ed pizza, but may try a Nescafe. Or not... but thanks, Martin.
Black Rifle hot from the pot, and the first still tastes the best.
Yesterday I installed a helmet lock on the 1300, affixed to the tip over bar, passenger side so it's on the high side while on the sidestand. But it's close to the muffler, so it may be moved later. The handle bars aren't just round tubes, so they don't really work for this helmet lock.
When I have to be away from the bike and don't wanna tote the skid lid, I've been using a short trigger lock cable. It works, but just something else to have in the tank bag or trunk, and less than ideal.
Close to 80 today, but stormy this evening. That means I'd best not stay too late at the office.
Get on with your day, planned or not.

Good morning, all, and thanks for the start-up, Martin. Mini pizzas, eh? Hmmm...how long 'til lunch?

It's lovely and sunny today, and the snow we got is already starting to disappear. The temps are expected to go up over the weekend, so it should all be gone by Sunday; hope springs eternal (see what I did there?). It's a mite chilly this morning at -2°C/28°F with a feels-like of -6°C/21°F, but we'll end up with a more palatable high of 6°C/43°F.

I'm off to the clinic for the usual dressing change this morning, then have to tackle some "administrative" stuff, then job interview this afternoon (meh).
Everyone have a great day, stay safe and go safely.

Patty

Good morning thanks Martin for coffee, and Dave for the comics. Breakfast Cheerios and eggs hard boiled, coffee of course. Sunrise was pretty, but not enough to get the phone out to take a picture. That and my eggs needed pilling. Okay, weather Cloudy 47 F high 58 F ,a few April showers in the afternoon. Agenda, blood work at 10:30 , Safeway stop on way home, and HomeDepot. But first more coffee.
Y'all's have a great day.G

Sadlsor do you have a picture of the helmet lock and where you got it from, I need to do the same mod on Lady
See below for an idea. It works really well and your ST1100 bar end weight is the same set-up as my ST1300, so easy to do.

I made my own out of bendable aluminum but the below will give you the idea.

Good morning and thank you for the morning start. 53 now in Roswell New Mexico started my morning outside of Lincoln New Mexico where it was 28 when I packed up my camp.

Heading East just two miles down the road looking straight into the sun I see something in the road so I start slowing down it looks like a horse is in the road, turns out it was an elk so I stopped and it hopped the fence on the other side of the road then 7 more crossed with two more bulls down the bank.

Enjoy your day and be safe out there.

Camp last night.

Until some rascal comes to the conclusion of depositing a lit cigarette but, his latte, soft-drink or the content of his bladder into your lid... :cautious:
It is only intended as a very easy and quick place to hang the helmet during stops when I am nearby. If I won't be close to the bike the helmet is locked in the top case.

I can only make suggestions- It is up to you to use common sense.

Sorry, I don't see where you actually posted that question, but I have pictures in @Andrew Shadow 's link, just above his comment in that thread.
In the "what did you do to your xxx today" thread.

There is always (well, often) the risk of miscreants and vandals doing stuff to the bike or belongings, helmet or otherwise.
Fortunately, it's not been a problem for me, and as mentioned for longer away-times, there are the panniers or top box. This helmet lock is for convenience, so I don't have to carry the helmet with me. With my fat head, the cranium bucket is unwieldy to walk with. And I don't care for the "carry it in a backpack" idea.
At home, or at work, I can just carry it in and set it down somewhere.
