Haven't ridden much this year. It's been quite a disappointment. I retired from my cop job, after 26 years, on March 1st, and thought this would be a REALLY BIG mileage year. Instead of topping my usual 12,000 miles per year, which is meager by some of your standards, I've only ridden about 2,500 miles so far in 2010.

First I hurt my back on my dirt bike...who'ld of thought a 50 year old couldn't do the same stuff he could when he was 15? That was about 6 months off the bike. Then when the back started to mend, I re-tore the meniscus in my right knee. It's been about 6 weeks and it's just barely tolerable. In fact I see a surgeon on Friday to see about cleaning it out.

So...any way... Got up this morning feeling pretty good. Aired up the tires, jumped into ATGATT, took 800mg of ibuprofen, and hit the road. Boy oh boy, have I MISSED my ST!!!!!!!!

Rode SE in a meandering fashion on back roads for a couple hours. Temp was about 61 degrees, it was cloudy and drizzling occasionally, but not enough to don the rain gear. I was plenty warm in my Joe Rocket Phoenix stuff with jacket liner. All the sudden I realized I was in Charleston IL. Not too far from MOONSHINE!!!! So...I stopped in for a DOUBLE MOONBURGER WITH CHEESE with ketchup and onion!!!

Put a total of 296 miles on the bike today. Had a great lunch. Got reminded how much I love to ride with no destination in mind. And then stopped in Litchfield IL, at Niehaus Cycles, and bought some new Joe Rocket Sonic boots.

Now I'm on the couch, with my ice bag, smiling ear to ear. Here's to hoping for many more miles in 2011.

I've had so many MoonBurgers this year I've lost count. They know me by name at the grill line. :D

It's the "anti-tub-of-goo" diet. :rofl1:

Glad yur back on the bike, Dan.

Good deal, always nice to get some wind therapy.

I also was at Moonshine today,,, but got there around 12:15 or so... Robert Thompson who owns Terre Haute Honda and his Service Manager and their S O's were there,,, but no other bikes at that time I saw...
