Converting California Carbs for use on a Non-California ST1100

I have a set of California Carbs that I want to cleanup, re-jet and install on a Non-California bike. Some of the exterior hoses are different between the two sets. It appears to me that I can plug the extra outlets on the carbs for the smaller hoses and replace the larger hoses with a set from the non-California model.

Has anyone done this and does this sound about right?

IIRC, some of those hoses are part of the PAIR System - but I could be wrong.
If the 'receiving' bile has that blocked off, you should be good to go.
