Good morning everyone

Welcome to November. Really, it's November already? 10 months of the year are already in the history books?

Well anyway, there's a pot of Black Rifle Beyond Black all perked up and waiting for you to enjoy. I've got a fasting blood draw this morning so no cream or sugar in mine but you're welcome to whatever additives your taste and preferences dictate.

It's a mild 67°F in Rockville, a carryover from yesterday's high of 83 (!!), with an expected high of 79 and mixed sun and clouds. Another good opportunity to enjoy the fresh air and frustration offered on the golf links.

Yesterday's turnout of candy-scavengers was the usual parade of wee tots escorted by their parents (many of whom also chose to be in at least a nominal costume) shading later in the evening to the tween-and-adolescent crowd. We distributed probably 9+ of the 16.5 pounds of candy Mrs. Fun bought on Wednesday. The rest will gradually disappear somehow, I'm sure, though as retirees we no longer have the option of dumping it at the office.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them.

Good morning and thx Keith!
For a few hours I also thanked you yesterday, instead of Nick….my apologies to both!
I wonder if I’m heading for that dreadful disease I can’t remember the name of.
Yesterday I once again opened the fridge without a clue what I was getting.
If it was a Friday, it would be a beer, but on a Thursday….?

Wind woke me up at 04:30. 60mph. One of the windows in the bedroom started whistling. Must get new gasket.

The red alert for flooding probably saved some lives.
Lots of rockslides, mudslides, broken brigdes etc, but the vine collection of Voss hotel is safe…

My usual Friday happy-go-lucky thing has been cancelled due to inlaws- stuff….Pfffffffffft!

10˚c/50f, wind and rain.

Have a gooood one!

Good morning, everyone. Thanks for the coffee this morning, Keith.

We wrapped up October with only one rain, and that was yesterday’s scant 1/4”. Better than none, but not by much. Temperature is still dropping and should hit 57 around dawn, with high of around 70.

No trick-or-treaters last night, as has been the norm for the last 10 years or so. At least this year, I didn’t buy the 10 pounds of candy in anticipation of the nasty little beggars costumed children.

Ta me duck'ster. I'll sit and have some coffee with ya, should we sit outside.
Nice start here, mild enough but the wind has started before some rain arrives later. Or so they say.
We've had a very dry two weeks here too, it wouldn't be unusual to have snow on the tops by now but yesterday got up to 62 and today will probably be the same. My new Berghaus coat is redundant. Did I spell that right? Meh.
Today is a bit of a mystery just yet, sittin, ponderin, slurpin, but the day will unfold well enough I'm sure.
On the Halloween front (I blame you lot), we had a mix of ages and maybe 10 in total. I wasn't counting.
Av a gud un and remember, you can drink beer on Thursday too.
Upt.

Not to dwell on horribleness, but Spain is approaching 200 deaths from the recent floods, poor buggers. More rain forecast too. The government, army and the police are obviously to blame. I thought it was the rain.
God bless em all.

G'Day,

blue skies, sunny, 13°C, might peak to 16°C later...

GF has the grand-kid over, thus Unruhe in da house... the girl is rummaging since like 0600hrs...
Marauding the neighborhood last evening she looted a bucket full of cavity accelerates... overhang from sugar-rush?

Loaded 4 rounds into the Nespresso gear, gulped two cups of the brown blood thinners to gain oil pressure... still low idle...

GF and the kid are out terrorizing the playground, kiddo got one of those flying balls to chase around... its emitting an annoying buzz, but anything that powers her out/tires her is a great innovation... :devilish:

Last nights view at my GF`'s place

IMG_20241031_102427_915.jpg

the +7ft tall inflatable ghost/ghoul didn't arrive in time... unfortunately... well, next year then...

GF might fire up her new, two drawer air-fryer today... lunch, a nice perspective...

Have a good one!

cheers!

Morning all, and thanks for the coffee, Keith.

13C and damp for the the ride into work in the dark. 16C and rain for the ride home. May stop and get my hair cut after work, lest I continue to look like the Disney version of @Weaselinsuit
(OK, so he's not a DA....)

There seemed far less kids out last night in our neighborhood, with most being slightly older. We were around 30, down from the 50 or so. Kids are getting less willing to walk about and exercise for small amounts of sugar-loot, when they can just buy it. The expectations of purchased elaborate costumes, as well as parental accompaniment, and the costs associated with said costumes, many parents find it both easier and cheaper to just buy the kids candy...

I used to love Halloween, but I guess as I age I'm turning into a Phhhhhpumpalump.

As for November, I was read the riot act on Wednesday night, stating that Winter was coming and I would no longer be riding to work everyday. Shhh, don't tell her I snuck the bike out the last 2 days anyway.

Enjoy it while you can!

Obo.

Good morning, all, thanks for the coffee, Keith, and Happy Samhain (or All Souls Day, or All Saints' Day, or Día de los Muertos, whichever you prefer)! Tread carefully...the veil has not yet closed and the faeries are still making mischief in the human world. ;)

It was still pitch dark out there when I started writing this post, but first light arrived about five minutes ago, so there will be daylight at some point. We'll see a mix of sun and clouds and there's a 40% chance of showers at various junctures throughout the day. We're already at the day's high of 17°C/63°F and the temps will drop steadily from here, so it looks like our recent warm stretch is coming to an end. Now, for the gales of November.

Everyone have a great day, stay safe and go safely.

Patty

Good, Happy Friday morning all!
Thanks for the STarting juice, Keith - Ahhhhhh *sluuuurp*

Don't worry @STooRay - people get Keith and I confused all the time!
We are Brothers from another Mother!

Dawn is dawning here on the farm.
I hear the traffic noise wayyyyyy in the distance and glad I am not partaking in the morning rush.
Instead, I shall imbibe and feel the waves of caffeine as they course through my brain!

Last night 3 buddies came over for dinner (I made burgers, pasta salad, and other goodies).
As we do, we solved many things in the world and yet have received no credit - Ahhh, it's a burden.
Whew! Went to bed way past my bedtime of 8:30 - What!? 7AM already!

The new grass is growing - now my job is to keep the tons of falling leaves from killing it.
Paradise still has lovely Fall colors, but they are FALLing fast (see what I did there?)

Y'all have a wonderfilled day!

good morning all. thanks for the coffee Keith. 52F on the dog walk. it was a chilly 52F at that. I walked dog #1 and when switched to #2 dog I also added a long sleeve shirt before starting out again. clouds moved in sometime last night to cover the stars up. so I enjoyed a cloudy walk with a soft breeze. the high should be 80F

Halloween went well. we had 50+ kids and at 8pm we turned out our lights with just a few candies left.
today is gym day and grocery shopping after. I got the grocery assignment as the wife has a dog thing going on up in Coolidge for most of the day today.
enjoy the day

stay safe

There seemed far less kids out last night in our neighborhood, with most being slightly older.
"Slightly"?!!
In the city it are primarily swarthy, almost fully bearded (migration background) teenagers taking over...
Not much left for the small kids it was intended for...
A bit more relaxed in rural areas, young kids with their parent/s though...

Good morning all!
Thanks for the November brew & start Keith!
We’ve been busy with things here!
Judy’s house closing, getting this place ready for winter & organizing things down south, after the two storms.
Not sure how our golf carts fared out after getting flooded, twice!

Cool & wet here this morning, complete with a power outage, compliments of the high winds. Pffffft!
Gotta run!

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee start, Keith.

It's cloudy and 61 in my part of the world, today, rising to 75 and becoming partly cloudy, later.
The rising sun made the clouds pink, as I rode to the house this morning. Very pretty.

The spray-foam guys arrived around 8, and they're busy setting up... no..I hear them spraying.
I took the cat to the boarder, since our builder said that we should avoid the fumes.
When I got back, the lead guy said that I needed to remove all of the stuff in the walk-in attic above the kitchen/bath, so I spent 20 or so minutes hauling our stuff into other upstairs rooms. Pffffft! (That's my first Pffffft ever, here...)

Once Brenda arrives from the hotel, we'll try to find things to do to keep out of the house, hopefully, starting with breakfast.

I almost forgot, the freshly mowed lawn looks wonderful, but the TV weather person says that today's wind will change all of that!

Enjoy the day,
Steve

Morning all! It's a grey rainy day out there and will continue to be so all day long. Currently 9C, the high will be 10C. Overachieving already.....

We had zero trick or treaters last night - I don't count our daughter who showed up with a friend to get some treats. I sat in the front of the house for about an hour in case any came our way but with no takers, I packed up and headed to the suite in the back.

Obo, I may not be a DA, but I have been described as being Shaggy, does that count? Re Dia de los Muertos, the Edmonton Oilers have a contribution this year:

Unfortunately NHL rules re uniforms forbid them from wearing this as a patch on their uniforms so only the fans can wear it. Weird.....Pfffftttttt

Hope everyone has a great day and remember you have a choice, you can haul oats or haul ass!
