Before and after replacing the shortened center stand with a OEM length center stand, the stand does not return all the way up and when coming off the stand and it's lets say, "halfway" up, when I force it to the up position the plate clicks and bends and of course, still doesn't stay up. The plate I'm referring to is the PLATE, MAIN STAND SPRING 50520-MCS-G00. I believe it is OEM length though I can't verify without some outside info, perhaps eye to eye measurement. I've spent a few hours trying to figure it out and now it's being held up with a bungy cord.

I'd appreciate any insight to fixing this issue, thanks in advance.

Can you show a pic of the spring and where it's located?
I could tomorrow, but it's from the center stand "loop" for the spring and to the "Plate". The plate is above the center stand pivot tube and attached to the "anchor point" in the frame. I wouldn't imagine the direction of the spring hooks would make a difference?

It sounds like the spring has lost it's tension... there should be 2 springs if I remember correctly.. a smaller one inside the larger one.

Yes, both new OEM springs I purchased.

The "plate" is what's hanging up proper operation it appears. But everything seem to be proper dimensions so this is quite confusing to me.

The plate is installed backwards and appears to be bent.
