We got back yesterday from a long weekend ride down to Richland, Missouri, and back up through and around the Lake of the Ozarks. Friday night we ate at a place there in Richland called Caveman Barbeque. Interesting place.

So what did you have and how was it? Poll time if I knew how to make one, but how many like cole slaw on pulled pork sammiches?

That seems to be a regional touch, the coleslaw on the sammich itself. I've had it that way and will accept it if that is how it "comes...' If I had my druthers, I'd prefer just the pulled pork sammich cuz I kill it with sauces -

A regional favorite here is a standard 1/3 burger with a big 'ol steaming pile of pastrami on it, with the usual condiments - Yummmy... Maybe start a thread for regional specialty culinary morsels?

Pastrami on a burger. That's a new one for me. I'll try it. Ok,, corn on the cob with mayo and parmesan cheese? I've never tried it but I've heard some like it.

Papa and I had lunch together yesterday. He spoke about living in Memphis and I immediately thought about the coleslaw on a BBQ sandwich. I can't think of anything more grotesque than the thought of some milky coleslaw slopped on top of some perfectly good BBQ. Of course he disagreed, being from Memphis and all. :D I said it would be like squirting mustard on your Cheerios for breakfast.

Everybody knows it's ketchup on scrambled, mustard on fried, and never attempt to serve brisket w/o bbq sauce.

I guess when we do FerrySTOC, we will have to go to Trolinger's BBQ in Paris so that you will learn that a good BBQ sandwich always comes with vinegar base slaw on the top with plenty of hot sauce.

Plate lunches are still only $3.69 last time I was there - BBQ, roll, slaw, beans, hot sauce and tater salad - enough for 2 normal size meals.

Been there,, good grub, neat place too. RTE!

Don't tempt me, it'll be the third day in a row I've shucked my responsibilities to go ride.

You've never had poutine then? It's a Canadian thing: french fries and cheese curds slathered with brown gravy. Sometimes there's other stuff on it too. A real artery clogger. :p:

Nah, I think I'll pass.
