I recently purchased a McCruise Cruise Control for my 2005 ST1300. A friend mentioned a post about using a Goldwing Handlebar Control Unit on the ST. Easier to access than the unit that comes with the McCruise unit. Any information about this subject would be appreciated.

You can find them on Feebay occasionally. You also need the police handle bars as they are a tad longer to accommodate the wider switch assembly. I added one because I can turn my headlights off when entering the gate at work.

Hey @NoShoes , we don't know each other well enough yet. so I don't know how you would approach this on your own, but please procure the proper connectors, terminals and crimper to plug whatever control pod you go with into the OEM 1300's harness and that of the MC Cruise.

They're inexpensive, or maybe, were inexpensive, ready available, make OEM reliability connections and most of all, don't molest your bikes wiring harness.

Yes, it can be done. You will just have to adapt the wires from the MC Cruise to the Gold Wing Wires. Mellow posted a good article on the GW switch. Here is the one that I used when I adapted the switches to a Rostra CC unit. I used a back lit switch module, so things were a little different then in the main article. More than likely the wire colors will be different. I just hooked up a 6V battery and tested each wire to find the switch that went to it. Then I just hooked them up to the function of the CC unit.
