This morning I was shuffling bikes in order to get the RT out for a ride. The Wing was going up forward in the right hand space where the RT had been parked. Next to me was the NC700X on its center stand. Normally space is tight but not a problem moving in and out except this morning I misjudged the clearance. Moving forward in the DCT walking mode, the Wing’s left saddlebag tapped the NC’s muffler and ever so gently pushed it forward off of the center stand. For a second it balanced there on its wheels and then started to fall to the left. Instinctively, I reached over and grabbed the NC luggage rack and pulled it over to me to hold it upright and as I did so the Wing started to fall over to the left. Luckily the NC came over to the right and ever so gently came up against my thigh wedged between the two bikes and they just sat there balanced against each other. There wasn’t much pressure against my leg so I was able to wiggle back in the sea t and out of my immediate predicament with the two bikes leaning against each other, holding the other one up. The NC’s throttle grip hand protector was bearing against the Wing’s headlight, plastic against plastic. My wife had chemotherapy on Thursday and when I left her to come out in the garage she was sleeping soundly and I was not going to wake her up if I could help it. I took a ratchet strap and looped it through the right front wheel of the car and pulled the NC slightly left to stabilize it though it’s weight was still against the Wing, holding them both upright. Then I was able to go around on the right side of the Wing and pull it upright, swing a leg over and get the side stand down. There are two small scratches on the Goldwing headlight. Grace upon grace.
