Tuesday October 29th.
Cannot believe I'm first. Perhaps I won't be, but just in case.
The Italian Dark Roast is ready and the Brioche is baked and splendiferous.
Help ya'selves.
I'm not working today, I refuse, I'll cwy and cwy and cwy if anyone tries to enforce labour upon me. Er'Indoors is in a similar mind but she's not ride ready after er op so we'll have to do some'at else. But it won't be chores! It has been decreed.
It's a good day in dear old blighty, sun, mild, still and well........splendabulosous.
Without further delay we'll get to it, once we figure out what "it" is.
Av a gud un and remember, be careful what you think in Canuckistan. Pffffffftttttt.
Upt.

"Gub morning ebryone", he intones through stopped up nasal passages and sinuses full of glop.

"Fanks for the coffee. Ray. I need it today, even more than usual."

Seems I've encountered hostile and unfriendly microbes somewhere recently, and they've made manifest their anger by attacking my immune system. The IS is fighting back valiantly, with the support of various chemical warfare agents (mainly acetylsalicylic acid[*] and diphenhydramine hydrochloride[**]), but battles are always messy and painful and this one's no different.

It's allegedly 40°F in Rockville, 50 minutes before sunrise, and will perhaps reach 67 with plenty of sun. I doubt that I'll see the majority of that, however, as my plan for the day includes continued close examination of the interior sides of my eyelids. I did that for over twelve hours last night and it seems to have helped with both the germ warfare and with the final conquering of jet lag, More of the same can only extend the benefit, right? At the very least, when I'm asleep my sinuses don't seem to be so overactive (or maybe they just drain better?) and I'm blissfully unaware of bodily discomfort.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them.

[* = aspirin
** = antihistamine sold under the brand name Benadryl, among others. I use a generic but the brand name is about like Kleenex or Scotch tape or Saran wrap- it has come to stand for the class of products and not merely a single manufacturer's trademarked, patented product.]

Thx Ray!
Coffee good.
New word strenous to pronounce for a halfwit norwegian.
I might try it out loud later, when Mrs Stu is home.
She might just have me admitted again.

9˚c/48f, drizzle, calm.

Just bought a RJ45 crimping plier to fix some cables.
Picking up Peter in a bit.

What was that thing about a government plan of change in retirement Ray??
Seems way off if they try to alter something for those already retired.
(It’s ok of coarse if they decide to raise the pension..)

@ibike2havefun Get well soon, Keith! Italian germs are fierce…

Have a good one!
Stu

From the summer adventure ride……a bit of dirt ride to find my cabin, camouflated in between the trees

Keith'ster, if it's the Italian Lurgy we picked up....blocked ears, nose, throat, coughing, sneezing, running snozzer, head spinning etc, we're 4 weeks in and counting.
Good luck.
Upt and Er'Indoors, cough, cough, sneeze, sneeze, what colour is yours today dear?

Morning all, and thanks for the coffee, Ray.

Seems you've already out a pot on for all, so you've done some'at already. Let the tears commence.

*Obo sings "there's a tear, in my beer...."

Was a c-c-c-cold ride in this morning in the dark. -5C to be exact. Even the garage was only 3C when I went out to get ATGATTed up. We'll only see a sunn-ish 7 or 8C for the high.

Lots to do, so little time. Maybe I should clone myself. Naw, I'm one-of-a-kind.

Hope everyone has a marvelous day!

Oof. Four weeks? That's truly nasty.

There was definitely some sort of crud being passed around our tour group, with one person after another turning up missing for various day excursions. I thought I had gotten away free and clear but perhaps not. Mrs. Fun has also been bitten, so I anticipate some shared misery. She blames me for having passed it along.

Move it on over Rover, the big ol' dog is movin' in.

good morning all. thank you for the coffee Ray. 61F on the dog walk this morning with the clouds showing up in force this morning making up for what they missed the last few days. still there was a star here and there to see. Mr. moon was long gone from the sky.

I might have a trip up town to have dog #2 vet checked and shots for the year. the wife is going so its a choice if I want to ride along or not.

the high today should be 72F. that makes for nice working conditions out in the garage so we will see what happens. enjoy the day

stay safe

I'll cwy and cwy and cwy
Well, look at that, I didn't know you spoke Welsh! Will wonders never cease.

Good morning, all, and thanks muchly for the coffee and brioche, Ray!

I'm looking out my window at a giant weather contrail and it's pink against a blue sky in the last of the sunrise. Cool. Speaking of cool, we got our first frost of the season yesterday and it's pretty chilly again this morning at 2°C/36°F with a feels-like of -1°C/30°F. This afternoon, we'll see a high of 12°C/54°F with a windchill of 10°C/50°F. Looks like we'll get a mix of sun and clouds until about 2 p.m., then the clouds will take over and rain will fall from around 5 p.m. to sometime in the wee hours of tomorrow morning. There's a big, and very sudden, warm-up coming for tomorrow and Thursday, and it looks like we might have the warmest Halloween on record for Montreal and the Eastern Townships. Crazy weather, this is.

@ibike2havefun: Feel better, Keith and Mrs. Fun! That goes for you and Er'Indoors as well, Ray. That's quite enough of that, methinks.

Everyone have a great day, stay safe, go safely and for heaven's sake, sneeze into your sleeve!

Patty

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee start, Ray.

It's 38 in MA, as measured by the Wing's thermometer and the local TV station.
It's cloudy and will rise to 54, later in the day.
They're predicting rain this evening, so maybe I'll take the truck back to the hotel...

Yesterday, I managed a gym visit, while Brenda visited the laundromat.
We watched some Amazon TV and eventually went to Linner

Today, I'll head over to the gym again, and Brenda will be at work.
She'll go bowling, tonight, and we'll meet for dinner, afterward.

Keith, I hope that you and Mrs. Fun recover quickly, and whatever you have doesn't drag on.

Enjoy the day,
Steve

Good morning, everyone. Thanks for the coffee, Ray.

It’s 62, to start the morning, and headed toward a breezy high of near 80. @Peppermint I can’t believe you’re just now getting your first frost. We got our first frost a couple of weeks ago, but thank goodness we’re back to summer today.

Yesterday, I managed to get both the truck, and the dog washed. I’m not sure which was the dirtiest, the truck after the 1000 mile drive, or the dog after rolling in dust and leaves at the campground. Today, I’ll set the tent up and hose out the Arkansas dust.

John

@Peppermint I can’t believe you’re just now getting your first frost.

I know, it's nuts. The weather patterns have completely changed - they're nothing like they used to be. When I was a kid, I remember having to practically hide my Halloween costume under a snowsuit because it was so cold out! I remember a couple of Halloweens when we even traipsed around in the snow!

G'Day,

thanx for the caffeinated blood thinners...

6°C/42°F and foggy in ze morning, now blue skies and about 18°C/64°F...
That'll be the routine for the rest of the week...

Slow day at the office, started a spreadsheet comparing ST parts prices between various vendors...
Japan for the win at about 1/3rd of any local prices, back-draw are waiting times...
Nah, not caused by the friends in the land of the raising sun, they ship promptly next day...
But flooded by TEMU and WISH the battalions of disgruntled government employees at our customs office take about two weeks to process my shipments... <drumming fingertips on desk>

Yeah, and since I almost got knocked off my `00 ST1100 by a female in a Hundai i20, who pulled out a parking spot without use of rear-views nor indicator, a bit of advise:

cheers!

Morning all from Weasel Central! It's a grey rainy day out there. &C now, 10C high to come. It's supposed to clear up a bit by the afternoon which will hopefully let me get the dogs out for a run. The pup is especially rambunctious. He has this trick where he puts his snout under my elbow and lifts it rapidly in an attempt to gain affection. While endearing it definitely interferes with typing. The over under is 50/50 on whether that's a good or bad thing.....

Keith/Ray, my condolences on suffering with the plague. May the germs soon vacate with the judicious application of internal disinfectant decanted from the drink of your choice.

I have to say one of the upsides of working from home is the view into the backyard as opposed to city streets. Of course that's balanced by the dawning comprehension that I have neglected said backyard shockingly and some guerrilla gardening may be required. But overall, the balance in the positive. Today's highlight, a presentation on construction cases involving contractual good faith principles. I have set up a rig similar to that used in Clockwork Orange to ensure that full attention is paid with an ample supply of caffeine and an extra dose of the ADHD meds. Actually, it should be quite interesting, will be happy to share with all of you....No...no.....no need to thank me, I can sense the joy in your hearts, that's thanks enough.

The contractors continue to work miracles. The painting is almost done and the tile work has commenced. The ugly old brown painted beams have disappeared behind new clean white covers and we can now get a better sense of what the final product will look like. We definitely approve. Which is good because we'll be paying it off until the end of time. It means generational debt for our kids but they've been somewhat unruly lately so any latent feelings of guilt have taken themselves off on holiday.

That's enough, likely more than enough, blathering for the day. Hope everyone has a good one, just on principle!

Edit: said beams

Nice, but you need to work on your internal design skills. I mean plastic and canvas in the same room.
