I just reached the 'golden age' where I am now a lifetime member of the American Motorcycle Association.
Which means I no longer have to pay the 'annual' dues (25 years of membership dues).
I do appreciate their legislative efforts on behalf of motorcyclists over the years.
And today I got an 'invitation' to join the AMA 'Life Member Plus' program - for an 'annual' fee.
I think the 'Plus' part is just 'plus some more revenue' for them as I don't need any more 'hats, stickers, and pins' at this point! ;)
Just had to chuckle at the whole thing.

Sounds like it's just another money grab.

I dropped the AMA many years ago. It seemed like they didn't have anything I was interested in. It seemed they were deep into "saving lives" with loud pipes, anti helmet (not pro choice for the rider to choose), dirt bike riding and racing and not much street interest. I can imagine they've done some good for street riders. :thumb:

Well, cheer up UP, way better then the pamphlets of the Wiener Verein* I'm receiving around every "round birthday" (40, 50, 60...)... :nuke1:

* funeral provision, can they get any more blunt, gee... :sneaky:

Over here we get those from a cremation society, hearing aids, manage your wealth 'helpers' ... the list goes on! ;)

Huh?! No "adult diaper" information pamphlets?! :sneaky:
(their running TV adds over here, as with "female hygiene" always during supper and dinner time... nice touch... )

I am a long time member, certainly not for their magazine. Membership set up with automatic payments includes roadside towing, trailers included, and that’s for your immediate family who live with you as well. Have used it a few times and it was fine.

The road side was the only reason I do the auto renewal. Used it twice for my cages. However this year they have broke out the cage coverage for an extra 50 bucks. Now that I own a used jeep wrangler I might just spring for that coverage.

I always had 'towing' with Progressive my 'insurer' so I never used their 'auto' renew feature to get it.
Good to know that it works well.
