Well, if all goes as planned, Thursday I board the silver bird to take me to London. From there I pick up my rental ST1300 from ABOUTTOWN, meet one of my UK friends, Dave W. and we head for Belgium and the Alps for 2 weeks. It's a ride that I have dreamed about ever since I started riding almost 40 years ago. So I am just a little bit excited about riding Stelvio, Andermatt, Susten and more passes that I can neither spell or pronounce! ;-) I'll get to do the Chunnel and hopefully part of the AutoBahn. Now if I can just occupy myself until Thursday .... :D

Sweeet! :bow1: :bow1: :bow1:

Take plenty of pictures for us and try not to get addicted to that 1300!

Have a safe and happy trip. Expect to hear all about it when you get back!

Will be living vicariously through your ride reports (you are going to share your trip aren't you?)

Enjoy!:)

Have a great time.. duh.. like I really think you aren't...

Don't forget your camera so we can see what you're up to.

What does an adventure like that cost? I could only dream about something like that... Darn priorities.....about to drop some cash on finishing my instrument rating...Still young...gotta get the kids outta the house then maybe a trip like that....:drool1:

Well, I just bought 2 2GB XD cards for my camera, so with the 2 512MB cards I already have, I should be able to take lots of pictures. And I will post the ride report on my website when I get back (and some pictures here also). (What I do now is post the pictures on my site then write the report so folks can enjoy the pictures quicker). What does a trip like this cost? I'll let you know when I get back! ;-) But so far, $1300 for the round-trip airfare. Then there'll be the bike rental, the ferry charge, the fuel at $8-$10 a gallon, the B&Bs and motels, the food, the Chunnel charge .... The real killer is how badly the dollar is doing against the Pound and the Euro. But I've already told my daughter not to worry - I'm having a great time spending her inheritance! ;-) 3 more wake-ups and I'm outta here!!!!

You are gonna hit the Berchestgarten area while you are there Phil?

Putt...

When you rent a bike in England, isn't the headlight reflectors set up to aim to the left for driving on the left in England, thus driving on the right in the rest of Europe the lights would aim toward on coming traffic?
