Two of these: 17212-MT3-300

See picture for graphic.

The question is: Is there an alternate part one could use in their unobtainium stead?

FWIW, the bike will run fine without them.
Just find an o-ring of the right thickness and longer than what you need.
Work in into where they go with a little dab of sealant and cut off the excess length once the 'ends meet'.
I was thinking this would be the case. Any idea what size these were the thickness? I do not have any reference material.

There are a few online merchants who sell nothing but o-rings, theoringstore.com is one I've used. They not only have a million different sized o-rings, but they come in different materials, too. I remember seeing o-ring material on a reel so you can make your own. This might not be useful for this application, but you might file the url for future use.
