Hey guys, reached out to Murph and he seemed to be a pretty solid guy.

I asked him if his footpeg lowers for the Councours 1000 would work on an ST1300 (Notice there's a stock GL1800 footpeg attached in the link).

He said he hadn't tried it - but that if it doesn't work I'm welcome to send it back and he'll refund me.

He also said if it just needs a little tweak he's happy to do that as well.

Any feedback? Have any of you tried this?

Warn a guy will ya? if you're posting Concours stuff! Particularly footpegs.

I was the second owner of an 86 Concours. Fine bike until I laid eyes on the ST1100. The Concours was done after that.

But before that I had two minor tip overs on that bike. Once on each side. And each incident left the bike unrideable because the cast lugs, that the footpegs pivot on, snap off if you speak to 'em harshly!

I was pretty much stranded until I could locate a welder to patch things up.

Won’t work.
Speaking in fitting terms the st/gl peg is female. Mount on bike is male.

Concours mount is female, Murph make a male/male adapter to accept the gl peg.

In New Bloomfield MO my little cousin knocked over my Concours. I had to ride to Mexico to get it welded.

Welp - did a pivot and ordered the brackets from across the pond for $75 shipped :)

Should drop the pegs about 28mm (1.10") and bump them forward a nudge.

May need to modify them slightly with a bar file but that shouldn't be a big deal.

Also have some Goldwing pegs on the way I bought off eBay for $25 shipped.

According to Cycle-Ergo... Those two changes should change my knee angle from 79 degrees to 86 and my hip angle from 88 to 93.
... If I also throw a gel/sheepskin pad on my seat that gives me an inch of lift - that will put me at a 90-degree bend for my knees and 95 for my hips.

I think thats gonna do the trick :radleak:

I’ll say the Horizon bars are way way high. I bought a 13 that had them and couldn’t believe the lack of height adjustability between where they were and say 3” higher than stock. The PO of my bike liked them. Others like the horizon bars as well. It is a plug and play kit with those hose extensions.
My bars are about the same height as stock, however, they sweep back closer to me, and the bar angle fits comfortably to where my wrists more naturally want to be.
The sweep back makes the bar narrow lining up my hands more inline with my shoulder width. All this lines up to make upper back, neck, wrists, shoulders, elbows to more comfortably share the load of a slight lean forward position. The horizon bars take the load completely off of all that.

We can effectively make that happen.
Put these on.

in the same way that I put the older ST1100 multi axis bars on my 13.

Hey @sirbike , could you coach me up a bit more on how to do this?
I'm at the point I'm looking at getting rid of the ST for an older Royal Star Venture for more comfort - but if I can figure out how to get the handlebars moved way back on the ST it could be a real game changer for me.
Thanks man!

Hey @cneher ,IMG_7875.pngIMG_7876.png
You would be removing part 14.
The part 14 bolts, are replaced by the ST1100 bar clamps.
The shafts on the clamps are too long for the top bridge by them selves. I don’t recall now and it’s too cold to look, however, it’s either one or three 12m washers needed to slip on the shafts to sit sandwiched under the clamps on top of the bridge, aka triple clamp.
Then you can find some regular old style handlebars in a size that may work for you.
You will need longer brake and clutch lines. Or extensions.
I see some on eBay but I’d feel safer calling Galfer.
