I took off towards Idaho last Friday to visit Uncle Larry, the weather and fall colors were great. The temperatures ranged from 25 for the low in Bridgeport CA for about seven miles from my camping spot, it went up pretty fast from there after breakfast. The high on the way up was 88 and that was for a little while mostly staying around 80.
At Uncle Larry's I rode his Yamaha FZ1 up and around Stanley and back to Nampa putting 450 miles on that rocket. The bike is fast and handles well but the fuel tank could be larger as you need to start looking for gas at 125 miles. I went 180 miles on one tank and I was worried that I was going to have to push it if it ran out of fuel.
The weather was cool in the morning in Nampa but the day was nice and warm. They were expecting rain on Wednesday so I headed home on Tuesday. I camped on Hwy 178 at a BLM campground after traveling just over 700 miles. This made the last leg of the ride just under 300 miles and I arrived home around noon.
Here are some pictures from this trip.
