I'm putting together the parts needed to add the electric screen to my 2003 non-ABS (hence 'Standard') ST1300 and have a question/request about the 'secondary' fuse box (containing fuses G, H and I) on this version.

I'd like to feed the new screen's wiring from the original fuse position used on the ABS version (Fuse 'K') however I've no idea whether this fuse position exists, but not populated, on the non-ABS version's fuse box. I know I could just run a separate 20A feed fed from somewhere else but would prefer to use the feed from the fuse box to keep things tidy...

My question is: does this position exist/is it usable on the non-ABS fuse box, i.e. can I simply add an outgoing terminal to position 'K' with a 20A fuse and feed that way?

Unfortunately the bike is several thousand miles away in Canada so can't look for myself - was hoping someone might be able to provide photos of the top and underside of the relevant fuse box and perhaps confirm whether this is feasible?

I cannot answer your question, but if the fusebox has an empty position you can probably get the appropriate metal tab to push into the box to give you the additional fuse you want. Someone posted where to find these tabs in another post. More knowledgeable guys will chip in soon, I'm sure.

Thanks, that's my thinking but like like to know for sure (or at least 80% sure) that it's doable so as to make sure I have all the right bits etc... I've found the tabs/terminals online so that bit is covered off at least...

It may be irrelevant to what you are trying to do, but as an FYI, my 03 standard electric windshield conversion (dealer installed) is fed out of the Quartet Harness.

okay, thanks, will bear in mind.....

I don't suppose you could take a photo of the fusebox next time you're tinkering? ;)

Factory fuse blocks often have no contacts in unused fuse slots, so check that before planning.
Agreed, that's why a photo would be a big help... I suspect/hope the common R/W feed rail from the battery which is shared between 3 fuses (GHI) will need changing to a 4-way rail (GHIJ), or better still 5-way (GHIJK)... depending on available space.

I hope/think this would do the job, photo should help confirm:

Interesting to hear about other folk's personal experiences with an ST1300 and this post illustrates how different people use their bike and what they get from it. I have done approximately 250,000 miles on ST1300s, in that time I think I have used the electric screen 4 maybe 5 times.

I take your point but I use the electric screen on my ABS bike regularly and did miss it on my tour in Canada/US this past summer…. Each to their own…

If you don’t need it any more, you could sell me your screen adjuster….. ;) £50.00?
