Tuesday 1/21 Coffee and Weather

It's just cold in SoMD...14/-10 when I rolled out of bed. Any coffee is good coffee, so thanks for the joe! I was supposed to go in, but I heeded our "Cold Weather Advisory" and stayed WFH...not walking through that tundra if I can avoid it. Two more days of this before we get any respite and climb back up to our "normal" winter temps. I am not looking forward to next month's power bill. Not much else to say. Today oughta be better than yesterday's depression and feigned ignorance...didn't get the pre-emptive pardon I was hoping for. Ah well. *****'s life. Take care y'all!

We do that, all the time, it works.

4˚c/39f, showers, calmish.

Drove Mrs Stu to doctors office to draw some blood.
She got an following up appointment for tomorrow.
Hope she can travel on Saturday…..

Now to train the cat to use his newly installed pet door in the garage….I see scratches on my hands in my near future.

Ay up me little Norwegian Kompis.
Is that a man made cutting in-between the rock formations? I've seen similar features on the north coast of Scotland around Tongue.
I presumed they were safe harbours for ancient boats, but really have no idea.
Upt and curious.
 
Good morning, Weather,same as Weiselinsuit ,we are on opposite sides of the big ditch.between Vancouver Island and the mainland.
So saw Oncologist doctor yesterday, some good news,done getting injections of Bortezomib. Which means only have to go to clinic once every 28 days to get supply of Lenalidomide and Dexamethasone. Also looked up the negative side effects of Bortezomib, when I got home. Weight loss is one of them, so hopefully will be able to put some back on, 138 lbs against a 750 lb (with gear and full tank) ST1100 is not a good idea in my mind. Ok I know weight doesn't have anything to do with riding, not strong enough yet. Two chores to do today,bring filtered water Jugs from car and garbage to the street. Oh yeah, thanks for Coffee. G

No, nature, or perhaps God.
Sea level was way higher earlier due to the land being pressed down by the glaciers.
Think it was about 3 meters higher when the vikings did their things.
There are some remnants of old viking boathouses found way up on the dry, just a few hundred meters south from where the pic was taken.
Looks strange….
 
Morning Afternoon John & All from a frozen Southern Utah!

The current temp in the house is 64F, seems our heater has gone on vacation. I am surprised that it's that warm in here, since the outside low last night/this morning was 1F! It is now 16F and heading for 45F.

So I have the gas fireplace running and a couple of portable heaters.

I got hold of my new insurance broker to get me some cheaper house insurance since my old company upped my home insurance by $600 after I dropped my car insurance with them! :censored:

So I need to call my mortgage handler about the insurance.

Update: I got into the attic where the heater is located. After pulling off the covers, I saw the status light going off, so I checked the codes on the internet and found that a possibility was the drain could be plugged. So I grabbed my new DeWalt heat gun, and placed facing the "Drip" sensor, that I figured was frozen. After about an hour, I gave up and went across the street to my neighbor to help me with it. While waiting for him (he was painting, so he had to take care of that before coming over) I tried it a couple of times and still no joy! Once he got here, we both went up and was looking at it, while I explained what I thought the problem was. I then restarted it to show him what was going on, and it came on! :p Apparently, it just needed a little more time to thaw out. After Randy left, I went back up there, to the sensor (it was exposed under the heater unit, to the open air) and put some insulation around it to help protect it from the attic air.

Pepsi has been had, already!

Anyone :dr13:, have a great day on the roads.... as long as they aren't frozen! :hat3:
