Earlier this year I passed 100,000 miles on BMWs. I filled out the request in the spring to receive this milestone recognition from BMW Motorrad. It took six months but I picked up the box today from my local dealer. Inside was a wall plaque, paper weight, and 100K roundel to place on a bike. This was 40,000 miles on a 1981 R100 and 72,000 miles on the 2007 RT I currently ride. I wish Honda would do something similar.

Honda engineers probably shrugged and said Ok, 100000 miles that's all? I put 126000 on my ST, 37000 on my concours, 38000 on my ZRX as well as 30000 on my first ZRX and 25000 on my CB11000 and if I remember right (not likely) 40000 to 45 thousand on my CL 450.
Keep on cruising, Nice thing is it doesn't cost as much and you meet a lot more people on a bike,
You don't ride through the country, you ride in the country
You paid for the bike, wear it out. No reason to leave another run around the block left in it when it goes away

If Big Red gave these mileage awards it would be solid 300,000 and closing on 400,000 for me. My ST was the largest contributor at 179,xxx. One of my riding buddies is looking at 500,000 BMW miles. BMW Motorrad USA offers 100,000 mile increments up to 1,000,000. There are riders in ST-O with many more Honda miles than my 365,000.

The BMW Motorrad USA award is applied for through a dealer. They have access to the form to fill out and it has to be sent in from a dealer. If you are a member of BMWMOA they have lifetime BMW mile forms you fill out yourself with documentation from the annual mileage and riding season awards. I have sent those in since 2006.

Friend on the Super Tenere forum has 630,000 on his '02? GoldWing. That's wicked cool. I can see doing it on 1 bike just because but to only ride 1 brand for 30 or 40 years as some do? I get brand loyalty but there are too many good bikes out there to try.

Dave Congrats on your mileage award.
