I just got back from my annual trip to TN/NC. I slabbed it down to Townsend, TN on Monday which was to be my base of operations for a few days. I managed a run on the Dragon Monday night.
Tuesday was rainy and cold, but I didn't care. It was dual sport day. I rented a KLR 650 from GSMotorsports in Townsend. A great way to see more of the area. Brought me back to my enduro racing days of my youth.

Wednesday I headed to Highlands.
The gorge along 28

Bridal Veil Falls

I finished the day with several runs on the Dragon.
Thursday I headed out for the BRP to spend the night in Boone, NC

I managed to do the Diamondback loop at Little Switzerland. I highly recommend this loop. 30 miles of ear to ear grins.
Friday I left Boone on 421 "The Snake". Made it to Shady Valley.

I was going to run 421 to Lexington, KY but severe weather forced me to head North on 23 and home .
A very good trip. I actually saw a herd of elk in the Great Smokies National Park.
Thanks to Lanman for some extra routes along my way.
