I finally talked my son-in-law to get his 2015 V1K over to my house for some maint. Last time it was on my lift was almost two years ago. The bike has low mileage with 8289 miles on the clock. How ever two years ago it was in my garage for it 8000 mile service. Could not believe that he has only ridden the bike 289 miles in two years. Give me a break. Told him if he does not ride it more this year he ought to just sell it to me. Don't know what I would do with it as I already have a 2019 SE Versys. With all that said I still like the faring styling on the Gen two's a bit more than than the Gen Three's.

One cannot own too many motorcycles, guns, fishing rods,...etc. And, as the bumper sticker says, "He who has the most when he dies, wins".

Chuck, can you talk him into taking a yearly trip with you somewhere? My son and I have taken an out of state trip every year for 13 years now. Number 14 coming up in September.

I was chatting to the MOT tester last August and he was saying that a lot of the bikes he sees for test just get ridden to him once a year and never move otherwise. With the Pandemic and stricter lockdowns in the UK and the EU my mileage is way down but is still in the thousands.
I can only think folk keep hold of these things for lots of different reasons and some of them ain't riding.
Let's hope there's some distance to be covered soon, very soon.
Upt'North.

Between work, his family, I can't even get him to take a day off and do a local day ride with me. I guess my daughter keeps him busy enough. I also have the privilege of taking care of her bike also.

Does she ride more miles than him?

:rofl1: :rofl1: In the last two years my Daughter has done 50 miles on her little bike. That is why you see the carbs on the table in the picture. To be honest their last two years have been very busy with work, family, and their two Teenage daughters.(my granddaughters) Daughter and S-I-L both have pretty high stress/demanding careers and they both are workaholics. Thus I get to maintain there bikes.:thumb:

Prices are high for used bikes! Sell them, buy again when they have time to relax& ride.Prolly be electric by then.

Sounds like they keep a busy life style- I totally understand-- I was that way when I was younger. You keep there bikes in good shape then when they get the chance to get back into riding they will have well taken care of bikes they can trust to go on long trips with.
