The key that unlocks it also unlocks the baseplate latch. Rotate the key to unlock it. Pull the red handle rearward to unlatch it from the baseplate and then lift the rear of the case upwards and slide it backwards out of the forward retaining posts.

Wow! It is now off. Thank You, Andrew. That worked out great. My red handle was black, it blended into the T-Box.

Yes Sir. The Darndest thing I can seem to get it off!

Same box as I have. Love it to death.

Unlock box, flip black top latch forward and out of the way. Pull the red handle toward you, then lift the back end of the box up. Pull the whole box backward (away from the bike) and it will pop off the "mushrooms".

If you decide to wire it in, I have opinions. I don't like the light being always-on, and I like it more as a tail-light than a brake light, so there's a series of hell I went through to make it happen.
