Swingarm diff-face paint question

Hi all,

I’ve reinstalled my swing arm and refurbished the diff. The other night I noticed that the face where the diff attaches has been painted by the stove enamellers too, like this…




Question is, should the swingarm actually be painted where the diff mates against the swingarm? If not, will it cause issues or do i have to remove the paint from this face before installing the diff?

I believe the oil seal is on the prop shaft itself, so I’m hoping it will be fine!

I would not think its an issue. Paint is typically a few thou thick and the swing arm is not fluid filled.
